At dinner seatings at Ohana do they give out leis or only if you are lucky? I am bringing a group of 16 there so Im wondering if I should buy them from Oriental Trading.

TIA

I've never seen them hand out free leis at the restaurants ('Ohana or Kona). They did hand out fresh cut carnations to all Moms on Mothers Day though.

The Poly does hand out leis to actual Polynesian resort guests when they check in for their stay (gals generally receive pink flowers, guys white)--maybe that is what you are thinking of? I have occassionally seen non-resort guests wearing leis which they purchased in the gift shops also.

Last year we got them but did not on our more recent visit in Feb. I think they pass them out randomly through the night but I would imagine you can ask them at any time and they'll get one for you.

We just got back, and didn't get leid at 'Ohana.

Sorry. That was just too much to resist.

I have never had one given any of the times that i have been to Ohana's. I have had one when we did the luau.

Just had breakfast there last Wed. morning.

I didn't see one person with a lei there.

My 3 kids got them after doing the hula dancing in Ohana.

So did my DS.

He did the hula because MOM wanted one and I shamed him into it!!! He actually got me two! He asked our cousin if he could just get one and she said he had to participate.

It might be a special birthday item there. When I made ADR's I noted to the CM it was for DD's birthday and when we arrived at O'hana they had one waiting for her.

After that we went to the MK and Wendy saw DD and wished her a happy birthday. She wasn't wearing the button at the time, so DD asked her how she knew and Wendy said because she had the O'hana lei on. :confused3 A little later in the day we were out by Buzz Lightyear Spaceranger Spin and I was wearing it. A CM wished me a happy birthday. :cool1:

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We were there last week and got leis at dinner but not breakfast. I think it might just depend what time you are there and which activities they are doing. The lady that was singing and doing the entertainment had everyone raise their hand if it was a birthday or special occassion and she gave all of them leis. She sang a song for them and then said anyone else who would like a lei was welcome to come and get one.
DH and I ate there a few years ago on our anniversay and got the most beautiful real leis made out of leaves. I didn't see any like them on our last few trips so I don't think they do that anymore.

My husband got one because we were there celebrating his birthday.

My first thought was, yep, now we can tell everyone my DH got lei'd at Disney World. :rotfl2:

A lot of times, there are CM's in the children's waiting area near resort check-in helping kids make leis and bracelets out of silk flowers. We have tons of these from our many visits. I'm not sure if they're only for resort guests or not. Knowing Disney, I doubt it.

No leis at Ohana dinner. :happytv: Only if you are a guest at the Poly. Hey, that's another GREAT reason to stay at the Poly!!!!

It doesn't matter where you stay. They hand out the Leis during the hula lessons. We have gotten them every time we've been there (3 or 4) but we always do the hula lessons!

I've been to 'Ohana twice in the past 6 weeks and I got leis both times. You gotta get up and hula though!

First one was pink and the second was white.
I'm the one that looks confused! lol
