Does anyone know from experience about how long it takes to get your food once you are seated at 'Ohana? The reason I'm wondering is because we have a reservation at 8:25PM one night. The Magic Kingdom fireworks are scheduled for 9:00 PM. If we aren't seated by a window in the restaurant, one of the adults in the party wanted to take the 2 kids outside so that they could see them. However, they didn't want to leave as food was being served and 15 minutes later when they get back the food be cold.

I'm sure someone will move it.

'Ohana is served a course at a time, and it will take 60-75 minutes once seated to get through it all. Your odds of a window are low. If you aren't seated quickly you probably will either be seated right near 9 to a non-window seat (people rushing out for fireworks) or after the fireworks are over. Not sure if protocol is okay with half a table taking off for 20+ minutes mid-meal...

Your challenge isn't just how quickly is the food served, but also when will you be seated? Ohana is somewhat notorious for running behind. Just because your ADR is for 8:25 doesn't mean you'll be seated then. It's quite possible you won't be seated until close to 9:00.

In my experience, once we were seated, we got the bread and salad rather quickly. Then the other food was paced out a bit with the wings, dumplings and noodles coming out maybe 10 minutes after the salad. Then the servers come around with the skewers of meat multiple times so that's not too much of an issue.

'Ohana isn't really situated to get outside and see fireworks in any convenient way during the meal. It's on the opposite side of the building from the doors you'd exit, and presumably you'd be trying to walk down towards the beach to view. So I really don't think you're looking at anything close to being gone only 15 minutes. I don't think this is a viable plan.

I haven't stayed there since the big renovation. Have they changed something so you have to walk down to the beach to be able to see the fireworks? Can you not step outside near Captain Cook's and be able to see the show? Rather than go outside, I'd recommend the OP's family find a spot indoors by the windows where they could stand to watch the fireworks. I'm fairly certain there are spots where people not seated at the tables near the windows can stand to see the show.

You really do have to walk towards the beach to see things well, due to the foliage, the pathway lights, the pool, etc.

Beats me. I was just going off the usual suggestion people make about viewing fireworks from the beach. People don't usually recommend standing by GCH. I don't know what the view is like from just outside there.
