My wife can't have lactose and sorely misses her desserts. O'hana, in typical Disney fashion, had a great allergy free menu including dairy free ice cream she loved. Anyone know of their receipt or supplier? I neglected to ask when I was there, but would love to find her some. Many options in the stores she isn't a huge fan of.

Idk about O’hana recipes or suppliers, but a while back Costco had a dairy-free ice cream dessert. I think it was dipped bars on a stick. It was almost a year ago, so can’t completely remember— it’s one of those things where I’d know it if I saw it. (We live in AZ & a fair distance from the Costco, so we can’t get ice cream type bars or whatever or they are too melted by the time we get home. I had totally forgotten about them… I’ll have to look this week and post a picture if they have them)

Anyway, the main thing I posted to say was that My DDiL doesn’t do dairy either, and she has found lots of awesome recipes that use substitutes such as non-dairy creamer (she says these work well) Cool Whip, or Oat-based creamer (not regular oat milk) if you can find it in the stores (it’s not easy to find anymore) in the baking aisle there’s a boxed product called Dream Whip. It’s a smallish box of a powder that is mixed with water and aggressively whipped. I used to use that as a base for non dairy dessert for our family when our son was dairy free for a while.

Try searching for recipes using those ingredients. Luckily, those things aren’t super pricey, so you can experiment until you find what you like best.

Btw, DDiL says cool whip works quite nicely, because it is specifically manufactured to be in a frozen state, so it refreezes beautifully once other ingredients have been incorporated. She does a frozen creamy lemon desert that she says there are dozens of recipes on line for which are all essentially the same… maybe your wife would like that. (Some of them use whipped cream, but just sub the thawed cool whip. Then it can be refrozen and scooped, or left soft and eaten like pudding.)

I can’t be certain but DS eats dairy free ice cream all over Disney and I think Ohana’s is Tofutti Vanilla. If not, the most likely other option is So Delicious Vanilla or So Delicious Coconut.

Dole Whip that Disney serves at various locations is also a non-dairy product. You can also find the dry powder mix on Amazon if you want to make it at home.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to try to pick up some of these products and give them a try.

And yes, we always grab Dole Whips when we can :)
