I was looking at the Ohana breakfast menu, and I'm trying to understand the Ohana love. Is it really just scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes? That doesn't seem very special to me :(. I know it's a character meal, but that's pretty plain for the $.

Yes, it is really just eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon, potatoes, bread, fruit, juice, yogurt.

At a character meal, you are paying for the character experience. The food is never "worth" what you're paying for the whole thing.

'Ohana is one of my favourite breakfasts at WDW :)

Yup, it's the traditional breakfast fare. But always hot & fresh as it isn't sitting on a buffet under heat lamps drying out. Love the potatoes! (they kind of remind me of BBQ potato chips - very tasty) Juice always cold, fruits & breakfast breads plentiful...

The character interaction is awesome & the view can not be rivaled - Seven Seas lagoon - castle in the distance.

Thanks! I guess my issue is that I LOVE breakfast, but I like fried eggs, or omelets, French toast, bacon, Benedicts. :)

It is our family's favorite meal at Disney. They bring the food to your table, and you can have it refilled as often s you like. I hate buffets with characters. I'm always worried about getting up and missing someone. The character interaction is great. There is a parade around the restaurant for the kids to join in. My kids love the waffles and were pleasantly surprised in March when they had Stitch waffles as well as Mickey ones.

It's worth it if you want to see Stitch and Lilo but otherwise it was a pretty basic breakfast. Nothing wrong with it just nothing too exciting.

DH has this issue. He doesn't like scrambled eggs.
We, as a family, love a sit down breakfast though, and, while we have a few other choices for him, this one is mostly for the characters. (and to try out the various offerings of the resort we are staying in)

We loved the character interaction and the setting at Ohana breakfast, but all thought the food was average at best. For us it was a one and done.

It's a good time with the characters but like most people have already said....it's a basic breakfast platter that you can get at any resort for like $13 except you can ask for more. Look into a Crystal Palace for a better buffet/experience. I prefer it over Ohana.

I was not excited about this ADR at all, made for the kids to enjoy the characters and because the other family we were traveling with requested it. The food seemed kinda uninspired and blah.

But I loved it! And I generally hate breakfast foods, as in actively avoid them.

Great experience all around: character interaction, food, not having to get up from the table to fill a plate, service.

There is the juice......

Ohana is my favorite breakfast. The food is okay but I love the characters and the atmosphere, and the juice LOL so its worth it for me.

And don't forget the biscuits!

Those mickey waffles thou.....
and that POG juice......

I usually drink a carafe myself...the staff gives me very odd looks when I keep asking for more....Its the best juice I have ever had...

The food is passable, but nothing to write home about. Regardless, we go every time we stay at Poly. Another plus for us is that it's a relatively quick charachter meal. Service and charachter movement is effecient. We like it in that we're not wasting a bunch of time on a meal.

They have POG juice?! I'm sold. :) How long does the typical breakfast take? If you ask for your check in advance, can you be out in an hour or so? I know the characters are the best part, so I don't want to have to rush through, but also don't want to be getting to MK too late.

You'll definitely be out within an hour. The food comes out very quickly. The only thing that takes time is getting to see Stitch and the gang as they have to see everyone around the room. What time is your ADR for?

We were there last week and it was at least 90 min to be done...A Photopass photographer is with Stitch so it is much slower. Love the atmosphere...we had a view of castle!!!! Characters are fum too.... Breakfast food itself is good...but not great....to me, Akershus has a much better breakfast...and I love Crystal Palace breakfast buffet...so many yummy choices...Obana is much more limited.
