Second family trip to WDW, first time planning a character meal. We are thinking Ohana, and were wondering what is the latest time slot we can try to get when ADRs open up? We would rather be at MK at rope drop and do early morning touring when the park is less crowded, then head over to Ohana after awhile to fuel up on what would basically be either brunch or lunch, then heading back to the resort for some downtime.

And, just to ease my mind, the food is good right? :D

We have booked a 9:40 for October, there also looked to be s 10am. The 9:40 confirmation does say it is the LILO and Stitch breakfast ( daughter LOVES Stitch). Park opening is currently 8 for that day (EMH) so figure we'll get a good hour and a bit of park time.

Anyone know how long it will take are to get to O'hana from MK?

The website says they are open for breakfast until 12 p.m. I've seen an 11:45 a.m. for Ohana. You could make a quick call to the Disney dining line to be sure. The breakfast is fantastic, and relaxing... not a buffet, they bring it to your table. You start with this excellent bread as soon as you sit down... and a heaping tray of mickey/stitch waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits are not far behind - and you can have more of any/everything. The special juice is also excellent. have fun!

Allow at least 45 minutes because you may have to wait for transportation.

I'd do as late as possible, so if you get that 11:45 slot someone talked about for their last breakfast, that's what I'd do and then I'd plan on heading out of MK a little after 11 and take the ferry (the monorail is too unpredictable for us). I don't think O'hana does an actual lunch.

Oh wow, I always assumed the monorail was faster. So the ferry might be a quicker bet?

If we got an 11:45 reservation, would we need to leave the restaurant about 15 minutes after getting there? Or do they stay open as long as needed?

I always go for the monorail first because (1) it is faster, if its running, and (2) it drops you off at the main building so you just walk through the doors right into the GCH. And no, they wont kick you out after 15 minutes :)

The issue is really that you cannot rely on walking out to the dock or the Resort monorail line and not have to WAIT for a boat or monorail.
