We have ADR's for Ohana character Bkfast already but the menu doesn't seem very big or interesting...

Should we just eat at Kona Cafe? I keep hearing about the Tonga Toast. I know I can get my Kona coffee either place...

What do you suggest?

If you don't want the characters, I would go with Kona. They have the mickey waffles and the really good potatoes that the Polynesian serves and the only upside of Ohana is whether or not you want the characters...

characters and chaos or a lovely breakfast

(psst kona ;))

Again, it depends on whether you want characters or not. If you don't, I really like the peace and quiet of Kona. It just makes me feel more relaxed. Now, my kids would say Ohana, I'm sure. It just depends on what you think it nice.

You'll probably save money as well going with Kona. You definitely pay to do a character meal.

We will have our kids with us and it's my Mother-in-laws first experience at Disney and her first meal...

But we are doing Crystal Palace and Tusker House character meals so maybe this one we will do just Kona.

We really enjoyed the 'Ohana character breakfast. However, we wanted to meet the characters. Nothing seemed chaotic to us, but we don't have kids, so the parade was just a sideshow.

One word of warning - our waitress did NOT let me order the press pot of coffee. She said she didn't know how long it would take her to "get over there". I had read here that it would be no issue, but she seemed to act as if it would be a huge burden. I just let it go and drank the yummy juice instead! The fresh fruit and bread were outstanding. Our eggs and bacon were fresh and yummy. I thought the potatoes were fabulous as well. I didn't eat a Mickey waffle as I had enough starch with the bread. It isn't a fancy breakfast, but was satisfying to us. If you want to meet Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, and Mickey all in Polynesian outfits, it is a nice time.

we tried both ohana and kona in february and we all preferred kona. the tonga toast was great , but so were the macadamia pineapple pancakes. loved them both. we were actually disappointed with ohana for dinner as well, and that was the adr we were most looking forward to. kona has been very reliable for us. good luck!

We were at the Ohana breakfast in Feb with friends. It was not really crowded but the whole character interaction was very fast. Mickey did not even notice one of my sons. Photos were rushed. The waffles were waffles, the fruit was good, the eggs had more cream and butter then eggs and tasted like you were eating warm butter

We ate at Kona about 5 years ago and it was quite good then. The friends who were with us at Ohana's went to Kona during our last trip and they say it is one of their favorites.

If you are doing other character meals I would say Kona :thumbsup2

I have had breakfast at Ohana's with adult friends and LOVED it but this time we are going to Kona. I have only heard amazing things about that Tonga Toast. If it was me and I had other character meals i would go with Kona!

We enjoy breakfast at Kona much more. Its decently priced too, by Disney standards.

Well, I think you all talked me into Kona Cafe!

We have met Lilo and Stitch at Animal Kingdom last year and we've met Mickey and the gang several times. Plus we do have 2 more Character meals scheduled.

I love everything about the Polynesian so seeing them in appropriate attire would be sweet but the Tonga Toast is calling me too!

I have to stay at the Poly sometime in my life too! We are off-site at our timeshare though again!

Great Choice!! And i'm sure there will be other trips and that might be something special to consider when you get to stay there someday!

OMG Kona, hands down! The Tonga Toast was so dang good, I wished I could have taken it home with me! The pressed pot coffee was divine! DH, DD, and DS all got different things and EVERYTHING was fantastic. The service was outstanding and it was the most relaxing meal of our trip. By family vote, it is a must do on every trip.:banana::love:
