I have a solo trip coming up and really want to eat at Ohana. I get a lot of availability for a party for 2, but when I list it as a party of 1 it shows nothing available. I worry about making it for a party of 2 with Disney's new credit card cancellation policies.

But a party of 1 usually sits at a table for 2, so I can't understand why the booking system is doing this. Anyone have a similar experience?

I don't know if this is frowned upon but I would book for the table of 2 and then call and ask them if they are able to reduce your party to 1? We actually did that with a couple reservations where there was availability for 6 but not 4. We grabbed them while they were open and called. Both times they were super nice about it and adjusted the number in the party. It's worth a try:thumbsup2

Disney's reservation system has a glitch that makes it harder to book odd numbered parties. The system wants to fill every seat at a table so even though a party of one will be seated at a 2 top, it overlooks the party of 1 when searching for tables. Input party of 2 and quite often there will be availability. Go ahead and book the reservation for 2 and when you get to the restaurant let the CM at the podium know that you are a solo. As long as you show up for the reservation you will not be charged for the "missing" guest.

I travel solo all the time and book for 2 instead of 1 to get better times. No issues ever when checking in for a ressie.

'Ohana is one of those where you have to book 2 (same with Le Cellier). Go ahead and book and have a great time.
