I was just thinking about our PSs'... We are set for 9 pm dinner at California Grill, but it seems a little too 'dressy' for our tastes, so I thought something fun would be a better idea. After reading around the boards, and looking at 'Ohana's menu, I think that sounds VERY fun! But what I really want to know is...

Can you see Wishes from 'Ohana? And if so, what time should I schedule our PS for that meal?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

yes, you can see wishes and the castle from ohana. be sure to mention to the CM you are honeymooning and have it noted on any/all reservations. as far as the time to book, i would say about an hour before wishes. you may have a wait at the restaurant. we did and our reservations were for early. have a wonderful time! :earboy2:

I actually like Ohana's better now for the wishes fireworks b/c they still pipe in the music from the fireworks show unlike the California grill which has done away with that. It was great to watch!

We were told by a CM and CRO to make PS 7:30 for Wishes since they are being done at 9pm. (Roughly 1-1.5 hours before scheduled "Wishes") By the time you are seated, you will be in good position for the display, not to mention the Electric Water Pageant will be in Poly's Beach 20 minutes after show, so it will be double romantic for you!!!

we just did this in March...we were so lucky with a window seat - it was awesome! We are doing it again in May!!

Thanks everyone!!! So what are the odds, if our trip is in July, that if I call TODAY I will get a 7:30 reservation for 'Ohana??

And that is the right time, right? Wishes will be going at 9?

I would say the odds are pretty good....I just called and changed ours to add 2 more people for May...

I ate at Ohana's this past February and had a window seat for Wishes, they did not pipe in the music. Has it changed since then??

We were there Feb. 16th and the lights were dimmed and the music for Wishes was piped in.

Also, when I checked in for our PS I mentioned that we would be willing to wait a little longer for a window seat. The wait wasn't long at all, but we did have a window seat and it was wonderful! Ohana was the best meal of our trip.

I just wanted to say that I did CG for Wishes...and I didnt feel it was overly stuffy or dressy. People wore everything from normal disney attire to dressy.
And the food was incredibly good!

We were told 'Dressy Casual.' Meaning FH could wear khakis and a polo if we went there, but this just seems like a hassle to go ALL the way back to AKL, change, then go to CG. I think considering that we have a nice reservation time for Narcoossee's on our first day, and then the Coral Reef while at Epcot (which we could feasible wear nicer 'PARK' clothing to) that we could forego CG for 'Ohana... Plus, I am kinda picky, and the menu at CG isn't appealing to me as of yet.

Does that seem like a hassle to anyone else? And for a picky eater, which would be better, CG or 'Ohana?

In March Ohana's piped in the music....and as many times as we have been to CG - I have seen ALL kinds of dress attire.

I would say picky eater would do better at Ohana....but CG is more than willing to put sauces on the side, omit spices etc....the food at CG is dynamite IMHO....Ohana is a next close favorite for us as well....sorry I am not much help!
It seems more relaxing walking around the Poly than the contemporary...and the yummy tropical drinks and oh I forgot...the caramel and pineapple dessert!!

Looking at the park hours for June, Wishes is at 10pm not 9pm. So would lit ikely be the same for July?

So would we not want to make a ressie until say 8:30? Does it really take 1 1/2 hours to eat at O'hana's or is that too early?
