First, let me say I am NOT affiliated with any part of Radio 365.
But, on the Radio 365 website the service named "Visions Fantastic" is "Celebrating 50 Years of Imagineering" with the best Classic Disneyland Ride soundtracks I've ever found (and I have been LOOKING for a long time!) I don't know if this "station" is available without joining the "VIP service" but to med this station makes the small monthly fee WORTH IT!
In amazing detail, classic rides are fully RECREATED with the original direct master recordings used the attractions (no "bootleg" acoustical recordings made by guests recording from their seats).
Many rides are presented in Full Stereo where possible.
I do not know WHO runs this "radio station" but the tracks are fully authentic!
My first surprise: The original c.1965 DL "Carousel of Progress" is spectacular! At over 26 minutes (!), it includes all of the orchestral music cues in stereo along with many of the sound effects playing with Rex Allen, Sr's. mellow voice tracks (and velvety singing).
Then, even the "unloading" voice-tracks play to invite guests to exit the theater (you actually went out through the FRONT of the Theatrer via a corridor in was built into the final "stage") and proceed to the "Progress City" exhibit. Next, the audio of THAT following show (Progress City) is presented. I haven't heard that part of the CoP since it closed in DL decades ago (it was Walt's original EPCOT idea!!)
Wonderful memories-!! (I'm getting "misty".)
The next program was a BIG surprise:
The complete Monsanto "Adventures Through Inner Space" with the brittle voice-reading of the great Paul Frees (best-known as the HM "Ghost Host").
We first hear the building's outside music, Paul's Queue-line tracks, the loading announcements, and then THE WHOLE RIDE in STEREO (even Paul's voice is in stereo reverb)... it is an AMZING thing to hear after all these years! ("Magnification-cation-cation" "Dare I go smaller?")
Those who missed it in the 60's will be able to finally experience a taste of how much FUN that crazy "shrinking-ride" was. (But you won't be able to SMELL that unique fiberglass "aroma" that permeated the ride-building.)
Next up, "America Sings" (the entire show in Full Stereo).
Hosted by the late Burl Ives and many of the famous voices you'll recognize from Country Bears and elsewhere.
A.S. was presented in the Rotating Theater after CoP was shipped to WDW, and was visually made up of the Animatronic critters that now staff Splash Mountain.
"20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" WALK-THRU (very early Dland). Voice-over is by Thurl Ravenscroft (Kellogg's Tony the Tiger and the Bass singer of the Singing Busts in HM... with the mustache everyone THINKS is Walt.)
The DL Mainstreet Electrical Parade (14:11) in its first incarnation (Stereo) with the Jack Wagner announcements.
Full Monorail Ride Spiels wq/ Stereo Music
Star Tours
Rocket Rods
I'm hoping there are MANY more exciting tracks in this series (I have just started listening and don't yet know the scope of this library.)
The best way to fully appreciate any of these tracks is to become a VIP member of Radio 365 (you'll get MUCH better audio quality) then put on some GOOD stereo headphones and RELIVE these great attractions.
I'm hoping that all of these tracks will be repeated often and that even more will be added.
Listen and Enjoy!
