I am wondering how difficult it will be to add one adult to two ADR's.

Heres the scenario: Me, DH, DD(6),and DD(4) will be in WDW Nov 20th thru the 25th. We have ADR at CRT for the 21st at 6:45pm and Le Cellier for the 23rd at 5:55. Now my niece(20) will be joining us for the trip. I tried today to change the ADR's but no dice.

I realize that this is a very busy time at Disney and my great husband has said that he will give up his seat for my niece if we are not able to get them changed. Which is fine but where is the fun in that. He wont get to see his girls all dressed up(they are doing BBB before dinner that night)in the castle.

Anyway I was just wondering what would be the chances?????

Dont give up on checking for ADRs. I am very anal with that sort of thing, i check multiple times per hour....and I always get into the places I like. Once I even managed to snag a great ADR one week before my trip! So dont give up. Even when you arrive at disney, get concierge to check for you daily, and also at guest services in the parks. As a last resort, if all else fails, show up and beg them to take the extra person. You just might get lucky, never know!

Also, have you tried searching for a table for 2? (not a table for 1, disney system has a prob with odd numbers for some reason). If you can get a ressie for 2 ppl around the same time, when you show up you can ask them to join the two groups together. Its been done before. so you never know.

Good luck!

Chances are very great your hubby will be out.

To be honest when going during a busy time at a popular place it is virtually impossible to add a person at the podium. You can try but just know it would be a miracle if it happened.
WDW follows strict fire code capacity seating, it isn't as easy as pulling up a chair.

What I would do is keep trying for a ressie with the proper number, even try to check for 1 around the time your's is. That way you can try and link them.

Good luck.

Your chances are slim and none. You are talking about a very busy time of year in extremelly popular restuarants. Going from 4 to 5 means going to a bigger size table. If they had room, you would be able to book it. But keep checking, as cancellations do occur.
You can try showing up, but you are hoping for the last minute cancellation or the no-show, and it is highly unlikely either will occur.

The Disney ADR system is very inflexible. The restaurants themselves can be... a little more flexible. Case in point: We walk up to the CRT desk for our dinner reservation... only to discover that our ADR had been the night before. Oops. :sad2:

Now, if you had called the day of for a CRT ADR (ASAP PDQ...), you would have been unable to get one. However, they were able to get us seated, no problem, when we had figured out what happened.

Therefore, I would suggest that you talk to the restaurant directly (stop by the host/hostess station 15-20 minutes before your ADR time, at least), explain that you have an extra guest who was not originally going to join you, and ask, very nicely, if they might be able to accommodate your extra person rather than leaving your husband to fend for himself in the wilds of Fantasyland/Epcot World Showcase. Having your husband there to offer to sacrifice his meal with a hangdog look on his face may help the process along :rolleyes1

I do not advocate using this as a standard strategy for squeezing in an extra person at every ADR, but for your current circumstance, it is certainly worth a shot.

You can show up and ask to be seated with five. But it's possible your fifth person will be turned away, no matter how much you beg, because they might be in violation of fire codes by letting one more person in. No way to know what the chances are...it doesn't happen all that often but it does happen, and you have chosen two very popular (and small) restaurants - during Thanksgiving rush.

If you can't change the number on the ADR have a plan as to what you are going to do if you can't get all five of you in (sounds like your husband has volunteered to sit out if necessary). You may not need it, but having it will be better than standing around outside the restaurant trying to figure out what to do

1) Disney is getting wise to the "but, they decided to join us" trick.
2) People can't always get the ADR they want.
3) So, they under-count to get a table.
4) Then, they show up with "unexpected" additional people.
5) In a team meeting, CM's have been told to warn guests against this.
6) If there is room, WDW will not turn away revenue.
7) But, if busy, they will turn away the additions.
8) Go ahead any arrive with the extras, if you like.
9) Just be prepared to have someone stand around while you eat.
