Oh, Taco Bell. Why? :(

Taco Bell markets itself to the young male population who need high-calorie food and prefer it to be cheap, as I understand it. The rest of us are just tertiary business.

Maybe the chili sauce is a big hit with college kids?

And donaldduck352 beat me to the article posting. Not that I've eaten anything from Taco Bell in at least 8 years, but oh my:scared1:, no chance I'll ever, ever eat there again. Of course, I'm sure Taco Bell doesn't care what people like me think. After all, it's not like I'm a valued customer in their prime demographic.

Yeah....their prime demographic of people with incipient heart disease and future high blood pressure...

agnes!

After hearing about the meat today...only being 30% meat the rest fillers I think I just got over my love for TB. Sad too cause I love them.

I'm not a fan of Taco Bell, but I think that sauce they put on the cheese quesadillas makes them taste a lot better.

I like spicy stuff but that sauce is *nasty* and they put it on everything. Then again, I hate creamy stuff so I guess that explains it... but still, it's gross.

It's like the sauce they put on the Double Down (which has LESS calories than a Qdoba burrito, and a quite a few other burgers!) Mmmmm... Double Down.

......Realy what is the other 60%??

http://www.dailytech.com/Class+Action+Lawsuit+Has+a+Beef+with+Taco+Bells+Meat/article20743.htm

....What makes up the other 64 percent? A combination of the following:

Water, isolated oat product, salt, chili pepper, onion powder, tomato powder, oats (wheat), soy lecithin, sugar, spices, maltodextrin (a polysaccharide that is absorbed as glucose), soybean oil (anti-dusting agent), garlic powder, autolyzed yeast extract, citric acid, caramel color, cocoa powder, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), natural flavors, yeast, modified corn starch, natural smoke flavor, salt, sodium phosphate, less than 2% of beef broth, potassium phosphate, and potassium lactate......
Mostly water and oats.

I have not been able to even drive by a Taco Bell in years. Back in the 80s they were pretty good and had a good quality level. These days, not just TB, but seems like McDonalds and even Wendy's execs just go out of their way to see how they can increase their bottom line by letting the quality of the......I hesitate to use the word food here, but quality of their food go down the tubes.

Seems like these places have just had a steady decline in their quality levels. Wendy's to me used to be the one fast food hamburger place that had a lot of quality, now to me they are about as bad as the worst fast food hamburger place. I only eat at these places very rarely when I am desperate for food and are somewhere where this is the only thing available. I used to be a Wendy's regular, but not anymore. I maybe eat there 3 or 4 times a year now.

I won't eat Taco Bell...when my sister was in HS (like 2-3 years ago) she had a friend who worked there part time. After his first day of work he said he'd never eat there again and she asked why, he said "when I saw that the beef says Grade D But edible on it...yeah that threw up some flags" LoL. Needless to say no one from my family (even fiance who will eat just about anything) hasn't eaten there since.
And anytime we drive past the one in town fiance says "Grade D...but its edible" LoL!
I'm sure McDonalds and stuff has some nasty things going on too that I don't know about, but I still eat there. I think I just like the tacos I make at home better anyways.

McDonald's is home to the nasty. I worked there for a while, but I never saw anything too bad with the meat. However, the cookies? The employees go in the freezer and pick out the frozen cookies with their hands. They aren't asked to wash them prior to doing so. (I always washed mine AND put on plastic gloves for the safety of myself and others! Eek!) Also, the coffee lids often fall on the floor and are just picked back up.. same with McFlurry spoons. And cups in general. If the top of the cup touches the floor.. well, oh well. Also, all the employees know better than to drink from the soda fountain. They all see what's in there.. yuck! If I was thirsty, I'd fill my cup with ice and hot water from the coffee maker.

And when they fill up your coffee with cream and sugar, they don't mix it. I ALWAYS mixed it for customers, and I always got in trouble for it. Yuck. Oh, and it's procedure to use the same rags on the trays to clean them that they do on the tables. The trays never see a real dish washer. Only a dirty rag. Yuck.

Why I still sometimes get cravings for fast food? The world may never know. Gag.
