I'm so very sorry Obi, I adore my cat too so know exactly how you feel, I've had mine longer than I've had my son so am very attached. I do hope you find some condolence in the fact that she is no longer in pain.

Our cat Tabitha died aged 13 ten years ago. We scattered her ashes in our garden We got two cats (twins) called Freddie and Strommie (hence my username) a few months later, and they are now 10. I am dreading losing them. I completely understand how you feel

Obi we know exactly what you are going through. We lost our cat in very much the same way he died in the car on the way to the vets.Up until a month before he was a very young 16 year old then he just went off his food and went to skin and bone he too was gasping to breath and just died. it is so hard but you do get over it he was a big part of our familly. After 3 years we made up our mind to have another cat now we have 2, 1 year old terrors!!!
