Ok so first I cheated, bought the store pie dough.....baked it no sweat threw away all the stuff...who would know but me and you guys! LOL!
Then I made my filling, decided leave the crust in the oven to filll...poured it in a wee bit full....pushed the shelf in....pumpkin pie splat all over...can I tell you it isn't very pretty on the floor or worse in the oven drawer!?!?!?
luckily I had a "dog" pan under the pies or I would have had a house full of smoke!
So much for me being Martha this year!

I'm sorry about your pies! I had to laugh, though. My mother couldn't make pie crusts & always bought them - either the mix or from a local bakery. And I can't remember too many pies that did not cook over! So burnt pie is an odor with which I'm very familiar.
