well, I was waiting until tomarrow to get our airline tix, and now the rates gave gone up! I did not realize that the SWA fare sale ended on the 4th of August. The rates are about 50.00 more per ticket!! We are leaving on the 22nd of Sept. and returning on the 26th. Is there any chance of the rates dropping again? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy the tickets at the higher price? :confused3
When I went online yesterday to see if the flights I wanted were still open, I was SOOOO mad!! (at myself)!!! I should have booked when the rates were low!! :guilty:

We leave in 6 1/2 weeks! How long should I wait? I would hate for all the decent flight times to be gone or the prices to go even higher? How often do these fare sales come out? I think I read on a thread that SWA fare sales come out on Tuesdays. Is this correct? I will fly any carrier, but I know that for our area, most of the other airlines follow SWA's lead on pricing. Thanks!!

What about Delta Song? They are or were just running a great deal. I just got direct flight round trip tickets for $98 each

Delta song, airtran, and all the other low cost airline services do not operate out of Tulsa. The lowest is usually SWA. Believe me, I have checked the cheaper services to see if they fly anywhere close to us, but they don't. :confused3

Wait until Tuesday at least. Southwest posts their fare sales on Tuesdays, and a lot of time your window to book the lowest fares are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and then prices seem to go up over Friday and the weekend. And of course, download Ding and check that constantly during the day, you never know when you'll get a good price there!

We are flying out of Hartford on the 22nd and home early on the 30th... Satying at CBR

I would give it until tommorrow (Tues). If no sales, I personally would go ahead and book. At least then I know I have the ticks in my hot little hands. Then I would hope and pray for a sale - BUT at least if the price goes up again I won't be kicking myself again ;) Good luck - and definately download DING! as mentioned previously.

I feel your pain. I live in Tulsa, too. Continental had a great rate of $186.50 for the longest time for your timeframe. I would wait until tomorrow to see if SWA has lower rates, but my gut feeling says it won't for your timeframe. Actually, I don't like SWA's schedule at all for Orlando. Do you? I'm so sorry. :badpc:

Personally the chances of you getting a sale or getting slimmer the closer you get. Often times even if there is a sale it is for tickets more then 30 days in advance. So for example, you might get an offer today good for tickets used after mid Sept. I would never suggest waiting beyond 30 days. You might get lucky, but the odds are not in your favor. At that point the airline is planning on business travelers like me purchasing the tickets.

I saw the $186.50 rates, and that is what I had planned on booking this weekend, but then the rates went up! I am going to check tomorrow, and book even if the prices don't go down. We are going Sep. 22-26, so I am still more than 30 days out, but I would cry (literally) if I waited and the rates went even higher. It is so hard to find good rates, to ANYWHERE out of Tulsa, Oh well! ::MinnieMo

Here is something you could try. I always use Expedia, Orbitz or one of those online places, but last nite I was trying to get a cheaper fare for a last minute fare for a client and all we cold find was a $680 fare from Rochester Houston. So I tied Sidestep.com and found fares for $398 - same flights, but almost $300 cheaper! I couldn't believe it. I would sure try it if I were you. Has nayone else out there used this site? What were your results?
