hiya.... my in laws have been a few times late august and sept to florida it is a little hit and miss, very very humid and hot they said and stormy, but they have been the next year and just got a little rain shower here and there...

hi

we always used to go in sept, used to feel like a blanket of warmth was wrapped around . yes we had some rain but after an hour it dried up. i remember being there in 1997 when disney were worried about a hurricane hitting, we had letters put under our doors asking us to fill our baths with water, the headlines were full of impending doom the next day i was swimming in the pool at dixie landings there was no effect it had turned into a tropical storm which we had watched fom our bedroom window at night
anyway you'll have a great time we always did:cheer2:

I've been in September more than any other time of year as it's OH's birthday, but it tends to be later in the month.

It can be very very sticky with the humidity and it can rain a lot, but it is so warm that the rain is nice! We've had it rain so hard that we've had to pull over because we can't see out of the windscreen but the downpours don't seem to last for long.

The first time I went out was for my honeymoon for 3 weeks and we flew on the 6th September. We had one day where we thought it was safer to stay in the hotel for a few hours as we caught the end of a hurricane but apart from that it was ok.

I'm one of these strange people that loves the humidity so September is a great time for me!

You'll have a great time - trust me :goodvibes

Dont panic.....we have been in twice September and whilst it did rain strangely it was at roughly the same time each day, not every day had rain though, and it was only for short bursts. Within 15 minutes you would never have known it had rained.......its actually a bit refreshing to take some of the humid heat away.

Hurricanes are normally on the news for the month of September but rarely is Disney affected.

We were there sept last year and it did rain some afternoons but only for about an hour. We had more days without rain than with rain. The smaller crowds make up for the rain.

Before last year we usually went in July and I can't say I noticed much difference in the rain, both times had rain some afternoons.

Been three times in early September. Two were mostly hot, hot, hot and sunny. The third (and final time) contained Hurricane Frances and we will not book at this time again.

Your odds of NOT having a hurricane must be quite high though ;)

Hi,:goodvibes

We've been a few times in September, and it was very hot and humid but we found that the parks were not that busy, our last Sept visit we came face to face with the love bugs (first time in 3 sept visits) they are a flippin pest, very annoying! but they are harmless. Never been caught in a hurricane though ;)

So good and bad points. Any help?

Forgot to mention the rain, had a couple of downpours but didn't last that long and it was a relief from the sun lol! ;)

We were there last September and had great weather. The first weeks may be a bit more humid, but the parks are really quiet.

Thank you for all your advice, we have booked it now so I will just have to hope it will ok. We got such a good deal I could not miss booking it. Are the crowd levels good for septemeber? I normally go in apr/may and it can be very, very busy....

We have been four times in September & of those trips had rain once for an hour. The crowd levels are low too. :thumbsup2

We are going 7-28th Sept :cool1:

we had our wedding on sept 2nd last year and we had great weather, ok it did rain for about 5 mins after our ceremony but the weather didnt affect us at all

We have this year booked 27th aug to 11th sept

Another vote for September, we have been a couple of times in September, as mentioned a little refreshing warm rain never did me any harm, it soon dries up.

That's smack in the middle of hurricane season. You should be okay, but it's good for you to be aware of this in advance.

We did not think we were going to be able to afford to go this year, so I think I just need to relax and whatever weather I get I will deal with it. I am still sooooo excited and love florida...... Our daughter was surprised to know we are going and is already planning!
Does anyone know is the humidity more in September than June?:yay:

I think it depends entirely on how bad the hurricane season is that year.

We were there last september and it did rain most days but as others have said it generally only lasts 15mins to an hour (but boy does it rain hard when it does rain!).

The downside is that the cloud cover hung around a bit longer so tended to make a lot of photos look dull.

The plus sides however are that it is very refreshing! and walking through warm (infact id say some were even hot) puddles is odd but very nice!!

we've also booked for the first 2 weeks in sep (leave on 3rd) and like you i started worrying about how hot i've read its going to be (too hot?).....and started to wonder if i made the right choice. But the low level crowd reports sound great, which hopefully means you can do/see most of what you want to by mid afternoon and go back to the hotel for a refreshing swim.

As far as crowds, you will notice an increase around Labor Day but before & after you will be fine.As for the weather then it's anyone's guess,we arrived on the 9th last year & for the first week & a bit it was low 30's & very humid.Of our 9 trips only one has been out of Sept & of those 8,2 have been complete washouts but the other 6 have been great & that includes being there thru' Hurricane Jeanne!
SD:thumbsup2
