...for Floirda and there are winter storm warnings for all of MB and North Dakota. :scared1: We were planning to drive as far as Fargo tomorrow evening. Why does this happen every time we go? Last time we had to drive 40km on the shoulder, with closed highways until we crossed the border. Mother Nature is NOT my friend

Can you leave early, like tonight, and at least get across the border before the storm strikes? A 12 hour head start might be just what you need. Good luck and stay safe. :thumbsup2

where are you flying out from?
i would leave tonite...get a early start..

Unfortunately, leaving today was not an option. I have to tie up a few loose ends at work to make sure my staff are well prepared for my absence. Earlier in the week I had also developed a leg infection, from an allergic reaction, and have been having to have IV anitbiotics once a day for the past few days, so one more trip to the hospital in the AM, and a stop at the pharmacy to stock up on antibiotics for the trip, and I should be good to go, or so I hope anyway. I was convinced, with the events of the past few days that perhaps fate was stepping in to tell me to stay home, and when we got word of this pending storm, I was sure of it, however my DD has informed me that come hell or high water (or snowbanks :lmao:), we are leaving tomorrow even if she has to ride a polar bear bareback to do it. With the winter we have had, she just might be on to something there

I was just looking at the weather for today and tomorrow..don't know what happened to the storm but there is no mention of snow now!

I think it is a slow moving storm. We were suppose to get a major dump of snow in southern Saskatchewan last night but we only had a bit overnight in Regina. There are still winter storm warnings for all of southern Sask. and south western Manitoba. North Dakota and Montana also have storm warnings out. So now we are suppose to get lots of snow today and tonight. I thought this was spring! :confused3

ariel68, I hope you have a safe trip!

Well 12 hours later, but we finally made it, but only to Grand Forks. We have been driving in the most unbelievable weather, and road conditions I have ever experienced, and hey I am from MB, so I have pretty much seen it all. We are so very fortunate that we have come across some amazing people here, who came to our rescue, or we would still be sitting stuck in the foot or more of snow that is presently covering I 29 east of Grand Forks. They have finally closed the Interstate, and judging from the depth of snow on the roads and the amount of drifting we've seen, it could be a couple of days before we can carry on to Florida

Oh no...I hope everything clears up for you!
Glad to hear you made it there safely & there were people to help you out!

Sorry to hear you're stuck. Hopefully it will clear quickly and you'll be on your way once again. Are you driving all the way to FL? How many more driving hour is it supposed to take?

Have a GREAT cruise!!
