My mom is saying that I can't go to DL with my brother anymore D:

THIS IS LIKE A NIGHTMARE COME TRUE!

anyone have any ideas how to make meals/tickets/hotels any cheaper?!

We are staying at the Park Vue with 3 day hoppers.

Already bringing water &snacks into the parks.

This is a freaking disaster! D:

How much do you have to cut to make it work?

Buy your 3-day hoppers online from Disneyland.com if you haven't already to get the best price. Park Vue is a hotel with a great location, but you pay for it. You can find some cheaper options a little farther away if you're willing to walk a little more or take a shuttle. Meals of course do counter-service instead of table. I find that you can share the meals at Plaza Inn - especially the fried chicken - they are really huge!

What if you only went for two days? You wouldn't save a LOT on the PHs, but one night less on the motel. Would that make it work?

Thanks for the help guys!!

We are going with my uncle +cousins. So i can't cut a day.. since we're driving down with them and all.

I will check some other hotels (i just hate the long walk -_-)

I was already planning on like... basically not eating. :lmao:

I saw that GetAwayToday.com had a little bit cheaper tix, can i print them from the site though? i don't want them to get to my house late D:

I would probably need to cut it down to about 1000.
right now i am at 580 for a hotel; 400 for tix; 100 for train to get to my uncles; then whatever food costs

You can cut back on the hotel for sure then!!! In my opinion, a long walk or paying a few bucks for a shuttle is better than no Disneyland at all!!!

Getawaytoday has the best prices on park hoppers. You print off your confirmation and take it to any ticket booth to get your tix.

Park Vue Inn has a complimentary FULL breakfast, social hour (which some have reported is enough for a meal) and cookies, fruit and bottled water in the lobby most of the day. This should help offset some food costs.

Also, would it be an option to list a few un-needed/wanted things on craigslist for some extra $?

With the OPs senario food cost will be zero in the parks.

Because Park Vue
Has a decent breakfast and light fare during the social hour at night. So 2 meals a day are taken care of and the snacks could pass for lunch.

But as suggested above Park Vue is a great overall place to stay and you pay for that. So you can cut down the hotel cost a lot by staying elsewhere, but will need to add in food cost.

I forgot about the Park Vue evening food thing! that will definitly help out a ton with food costs! I will have to go run that by my parents.

At this point i don't think its going to get any lower cost wise. I think I have already cut back on everything that I can :/

I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope my parents make the RIGHT choice ;)

But if anyone can think of anything else please let me know!

I would definately check into other hotels. There are other options that are much cheaper than Park Vue, that's a fairly pricey hotel when you're trying to cut corners. The difference in money right there could pay for quite a bit of food for 2 people.

I agree. If you feel that you can't cut down on the trip costs at all, then is there a way you can make some money to help cover the costs? Anything you can sell? Any odd jobs you can work?

I can't sell anything, i'll look for odd jobs.

What have you guys heard about the Quality Inn & Suites? That one would be about $450, but it doesn't get good reviews on TripAdvisor. Do I have to walk around the back side to DL or can i cut thru parking lots? Any info on that is appreciated. Would save about 130 bucks.

You can check out the Anaheim Plaza for cheaper rates. No breakfast but we have taken oatmeal, heated the water in the microwave with raisins, bananas or strawberries.

I have a friend that just got back from the parks on Monday. He had a room booked at the Quality Inn and Suites and checked out after one night. Both he and his son got chemical burns from the bathtub. They both had to go to the emergency room and the hotel was very adamant about not reimbursing him for the room or the medical care. He's contacted a lawyer. Avoid that place like the plague!

Priceline, however, reimbursed him for the room and booked him into another hotel. Kudos to Priceline.

Have to comment on this one. I have been in the hotel/motel business for YEARS. Never, ever, ever bathe in a tub. Some of the chemicals they use to clean them are really harsh(make them nice and shiny but do not come off easily and have even heard of hotels using the stuff as a spray and NOT washing it away.) And then there are the places who do not do a good job of cleaning(nothing like getting athlete's foot from a tub) so I always clean it before we take a shower. Even when I had small children I made them shower(if they were too small to do it alone they showered with mom) because I refuse to let my kids be submitted to these types of problems.

I know it would be nice if all hotels were perfect, but unfortunately they are not. And I have seen and heard some REAL horror stories.

On a different note...always check your bed for headlice. If hotels do not wash their blanket(or cover) every time(and yes some do not) you can come home with come critters.

Ok sorry OP to threadjack...but had to do my soapbox on this one.

AH! Thats horrible!!! I would never take a bath in a hotel though. :sad2:

Other than that did he say it was alright?

Do you have any unwanted real gold or silver? On the budget board, there is an entire forum dedicated to selling such. I have myself twice to United States Gold Buyers. Just a tiny bit of gold can yield hundreds of dollars.
