Hello everyone,

Right like everyone else i have been waiting what seemed like an age for August's park hours to be released.
Hooray i said, thank god for that... but now i am even more confused than i was to start.

I have based my whole itinerary on the crowd calendar thingy on the Touring Plans site.
However i am staying onsite and now the penny has dropped that the crowd calendar is probably more for those who want to avoid EMH.

Having never been before i am not sure if i should be avoiding them like the plague or taking full advantage of them.
We will probably do a couple of the Extra Evening hours as my 2 girls will be 15 and 19 so getting to bed isn't an issue.

Are there any parks where Extra Morning Hours are a must? if so what ones and then i can try and re-do my plans.

Thanks

we always try and do ak on the morning hours and go straight to the safari before it gets too hot

we always use the emh so we only ever do that

When i first read about EMH i thought great im going to base everything around those....Anyway i have read a few of the guide books, forums etc and decided it may actually be busier those days, as you'll get people who r onsite aswell as normal crowds when the park officially opens.

Ive changed mine to the ones the Brits Guide have recommended but like yourself may use the evening ones as i think those may be better bcos the hours are longer. The guide worked well for me last time and ive ordered their itinarary too.

Only my opinion tho!

Extra magic hours in the evening was a waste for us last time as all fastpasses goon for the rides that are on offer

I would do the EMH in the mornings and then move to the recommended park once it was starting to get busy.

As for evening emh if you plan on staying really late they can be good as it does get quiet towards the end but if you are only planning on staying for an extra hour or so it will be really still quite busy.

I do agree that the touring plans are based more for people staying off site.

When we went in 2007 we followed the Brit Guide advice rather than EMH but that's mainly because I'm soooo not an early riser. We did make use of a couple of the late EMH - ie we went to see fireworks the nights that the late EMH were on and that worked out well - stuff like Big Thunder Mountain was so different in the dark, loved it. Also have rather amusing footage of me a little bit tipsy after a beer or two in Germany in Epcot giving a late night guided tour during EMH - lol - what I didn't know was that Disney had worked it's magic and I was actually tipsy and pregnant!!! Turns out my baby survived beer and rollercoasters! :scared1:

We plan on doing AM EMHs and geting out of there to one of TGMs reccomended parks when it starts getting busy.

I also fancy doing evening EMHs for firework nights, as that way we won't have to rush out of the park at the same time as everyone else.

I would avoid extra magic hours parks during the day and follow the crowd calendar advice. We have went twice in August and the best time we had was avoiding them and following a touring plan. At the Magic Kingdom, one day we had finished most of the park by 1pm. We normally go to the best crowd calendar park and if they close early we than head over to the park with extra magic hours for some more fun.
