Oh My Goodness! What is wrong with me?!

I seriously think I have a problem. We bought direct in December 2009 and it was so easy I swore I would never go resale. But then I signed up to receive resale listings with THE BIG 3 resale companies. You know what's coming, don't you?!?

So at the end of June we bid on a resale contract and just 6 weeks later (honestly, I can say the time flew by!) the points are in our account. I know this sounds crazy, but I sit here tonight all excited because I have more new resale listings sitting in my inbox... and I am wondering when I can do it all over again?!?! Another small add-on... or perhaps a new contract at another resort? This is madness!!! Good thing I have DH to keep me grounded.

I don't drink or smoke or have any other vices... except it seems resale contracts!

Hi, My name is Adminjedi. I have been add-on sober since, well, um, since July 1st. Ok, I scour the resale listings every night, but I have not made any offers!

I hear ya! We're currently waiting on ROFR for a 50 point resale at OKW. I'm SO excited and yet I have that nagging doubt, maybe we shouldn't have done it...fortunately (or unfortunately) for me, DH likes it when I do crazy things like call up the timeshare broker and make an offer! So it's not hard to get away with! You have to enjoy what life has to offer, right?

You make me want to quit my job, go home and start scouring the resale listings for . . . no wait . . . .

Dont feel bad, as you are in good company here. When we bought, swore 170 would be way plenty, before we know it, buy another 50(and we havent even used the 170 pts at that point). After a couple trips under our belts, decide 130 more will do the trick. Then, in a snap, final and fourth contract is enuff!!

Point being, as time goes by, you will begin to realize as your vacation habits change, you will need more pts.(or less maybe) and it is OK. Dont strap yourself financially is key, but dont short yourself either.

After owning since '01, we still find ourselves getting excited at 110 days out to return to the place that gives us much joy. And DVC is a huge part of that!

We are in the closing process of our 4th resale contract (695 points now), and I still look at the emails from the resale companies! I think I need one more small contract, an even 750 points seems perfect to me.
