When can we request buildings or rooms? Coming in February..
That would be nice and I appreciate all they do over there but they aren't usually so quick to update their room listings. I think Poly DVC was open a year and it still came up as Standard rooms (non-DVC). It still might, I haven't looked in a while. And Copper Creek has been open about 6 months and it's still not on there at all. So it would be unusual for them to update it so quick. For the record, Len said they plan on updating the map on TP in the next few weeks. They were holding off as long as they could since 2017 reservations would still want to reference the "old" categories.

Oh, I understand. Simply pointing out that sometimes, their idea of a few weeks may not be what your idea is, in case you look and don't find them changed.Just sharing what he told me in the forums earlier today. They are currently working on it.

Will this apply to all resorts? I was just looking at Standard View 2 Queen beds at AKL and was AMAZED at the number that popped up - MANY of which had near perfect views of the Savannah. And the FEW rooms that showed up for "Savannah View" (not Arusha) and can't help but suspect there are a lot of miscategorized rooms on there...
TPs has work well for me too.
I always just fax my request 3 days before check-in directly to the resort. In the past there has been some argument as to if this works, but I have gotten my requests every time for 15+ trips.I finally joined this year. Disappointed in that not once in six different resorts did i receive what (not the building/floor/general area) I carefully requested.
Realize it's just a request & the luck of the draw but wondering if the room assigners really take notice of them when the resorts are at high occupancy
One more try after thanksgiving @ SSR, fingers crossed. Have preferred but it's such a large resort, really wanted a view of DTD & walkable to dining there.

To be fair I’ve only had success at Poly, POR, GF, CR, & BC. I’ve never made requests at any other resort. I also have never asked for anything that would be considered an upgrade.Congrats to you.
My stays are mostly DVC, somewhat expected less success. However, i struck out with room only booked thru CRO too (for a five day stay @ Pop middle of Oct.)
couldn't have been assigned a room further than what i had requested (upper floor, renovated in standard) lol
I wound up in preferred bldg but next to one of those golf cart/luggage corrals. So noisy though out the night - Beep beep, sound of small engines & much foot traffic. Ah well, least we were in WDW.

There are miscategorized rooms on TP. And a lot with incorrect bed configurations. Will this apply to all resorts? You can still do both. Just because you got a room notice via text doesn't mean you can't go to the front desk too.Considering going back to checking in @ resort early in the day to do a face to face with the desk to reaffirm my request vs relying upon online checkin with the text message system.
