ahhhh life with a teen!!

just sharing what I hear all day from DD and her friends. Of course I have to pipe in and either agree or disagree. DH hates when we all do it too

I was in the locker room at the gym the other night and there was this gaggle of teenaged girls getting ready to head out to the pool. I swear...if I would have heard the word "like" just once more...I would have hung myself!! When did "like" become, like, so, like, popular to, like, use, like, every other word?


Did we talk that way when we were teens?

I have a lot of fun with my teens with this. Gives me a chance to act "totally immature, Mom!" She says someone's hot, and either I gush along with her (which really skeeves her out) or I pick out someone, ummmm, more of my generation, to say, "OMG, _____ is so HOTTTT!" which also skeeves her out. It's a win/win situation for me.

Yep me too! But scary she because she has the same taste! And now we have a thing where we say "GBH" which mean gonna be hot... lol you know the lil ones who you see and just know they are gonna be more adorable when there get older

BUT, Tues and Wed he wanted to go back to see if he could find her again. He did Tues but still wouldnt talk to her and didn't find her on Wed. Oh, to be young again!!

I have 15 & 16 y/o boys and I hear about the Hot girls all the time. We have a local amusement/water park near our house and we have season passes for the summers. On Mon. my 16 y/o spots a "SMOKIN' HOTTIE" but won't go talk to her. She is in the wave pool so it wouldn't be hard to strike up a conversation. No way would he do it. BUT, Tues and Wed he wanted to go back to see if he could find her again. He did Tues but still wouldnt talk to her and didn't find her on Wed. Oh, to be young again!!

LOL! My DS11 made the mistake of calling a girl that he liked (named Ashey) "hot Ashley" and I have driven him NUTS about it since. When he talks about a girl I ask "oh, is she cuter than "hot Ashley" LOL!

Now, my DD14 could care less when I try to pick on her when she says a guy is "hot"....especially the JONAS BROTHERS. She is "sooooo in LOVE with Joe Jonas"! LOL

Sadly, my 9 year old had better taste at 5!!...She was watching Animal Planet, a special on saving grizzly bears, and Brad Pitt was trying to help...she was RIVETED to the screen!!! soon after, she was hooked on Johnny Depp,despite being too frightened to see the Pirates' movies. Smart girl!!

Unfortunately, at 9, Disney marketing has perverted her taste, and she too thinks the Jonas Brothers are hot ...I just wish they'd melt! If I have to hear another debate at school about who the cute one is, I don't know what I might be capable of....And this is 9! The future looks bleak
