DH went out running the neighborhood and came home with another cat. This one is a Bengal. She's absolutely beautiful and soooooooooo friendly. A bunch of kids that were feeding the cat said that she had been around for a week or so and didn't have a home.

We've put some "found cat" signs up in the neighborhood but if there are no calls, I'm not sure what we're going to do. We're probably going to keep her and fold her into the herd.

So, does anyone know anything about Bengals?

Kudos to you for taking her in! I'm no help with Bengal info but just wanted to say thanks.

The shelter I volunteer at had THIRTY cats surrendered in ONE day last week. I wish people would be more responsible.

Oooo.. I would love to adopt a Bengal. Beautiful breed!

But we can't handle another cat. 4 is enough. And one has been at the vets office for the past 3 nights racking up quite a bill.

I hope the owners come forward or you can find a nice home for her.

I think we're doomed. I'm already thinking of names for her.

Shakira (her meow sounds like the singer)
Sephora (since she looks like she is wearing eyeliner)

Once you start naming an animal, it's all over. She's yours.

This would be number 7 (yes SEVEN) for us. Two of ours are pretty old - one is 18 and the other 19. The 18 year old has some health problems that we're managing but I am a little concerned about additional stress on him of bringing in another cat.

We kept her in the laundry room last night. Ours could sniff under the door at her if they wanted. Surprisingly, only one of ours seemed only slightly agitated at the new arrival. The 19 year old seemed to detect a disturbance to his kingdom. But, for the most part, they ignored her.

I think they were all thinking "Not ANOTHER one....."

You know, she didn't seem malnourished and she was pretty clean so I'm thinking she has a home. She definitely had no fear of people. But, you never know.

DH is going to hit the streets and ask around tonight.

In case anyone is wondering, the ages of the other 4 are 15, 14, 6, and 2

Picturepicturepicturepicture!!! :goodvibes

Sounds like my DH, except with him it is dogs. We finally got down to just two and added two more last week. His bossed owned them and his poor wife developed a sever allergy to dog dander. Didn't want to break them up so asked DH if anyone wanted a couple of dogs. We now are the proud owners of CJ the Pomeranian and Cocoa the Cocker Spaniel.

i have 2 bengal brothers, they are 13 years old,the one romeo my fav has been sick for over a year(cost us a fortune) they are very friendly and vocal..love water and jumping up on high places. the other one boomer is a little over weight so he doesnt jump as much-they do like to play pretty rough with each other. their pretty smart too, mine can open the cabinets with their paw and i have a magnet latch on them too. congrats on the find, i had to pay for mine $300 a piece. and like i said that was 13 years aago-i have no idea how much they would be now. pics of romeo and boomer-

You should take the cat to the shelter and see if the cat's picture is in their lost book, or see if she's microchipped. :)

Your DH sounds like mine. We are now the proud owners of 6 cats and 1 dog. Our latest, Simba, was abandoned at a Sonic Drive In and then that closed down. People were watching him and going to feed him and eventually caught him. We opted to "foster" him for a short time. That was at the end of February. We are now his new owners.

We love all our babies (ages are 14, 13, 9, 7, 3, 2 & 2). The only one who wasn't a stray is our oldest. We picked her from a family whose cat had kittens. All our others were strays either found on the street or adopted from the shelter.

korzmom, your bengals are beautiful. We have a Maine Coon mix and a Bombay. We think Simba is a siamese mix, but are not quite sure as he has the siamese coloring, but beautiful striped legs with spots under his fur on his body.

lfontaine, good luck to you with your new friend.

Bengals are pricy kitties! Surely she has a home? Since Benal kittens can be sold for plenty of money, I can't imagine this is a stray.

Anyway, good for you for providing her a temporary home! :goodvibes

ETA: Korzmom, your kitties are beautiful!

I hope that you get to keep her! I know that you said you don't want to but you've already picked out names. Uh-huh... ;)

If you're picking out names, you're DOOMED!

Srsly, bless you for taking care of another cat. I hope you find the cat's owner. Definitely put up lost cat ads in the neighborhood and the paper - cats can roam a good distance when scared.

If not. . .well, Bengals are beautiful kitties, and you sound like you needed another fur baby. :thumbsup2

I do but I don't. I love all my babies but geez, SEVEN cats!!! That's a lot of feline...
