I'm sitting here in my husband's office right now. Why, you ask?? Well, yesterday, I woke up with a sore throat. Since sore throats usually herald the beginning of a cold, I basically lived on tea all day, and waited patiently for this cold.
This morning, after a painful night, I woke up with a fever, painful glands and my throat hurting enough to cause tears. I came into the base and got checked out. Doc prescribed an antibiotic, motrin and cepacol. I went to the pharmacy to activate, and they have no record of my meds being put in. Come on people, I just want to go HOME!!!!
Then I finally get it activated. I was told that the meds would be ready in about 15-20 minutes. So I went to have lunch with hubby in the hospital caf, then I was going to pick up my meds and go home.
Well, someONE spilled a hazardous chemical in the pharmacy, so now the pharmacy is CLOSED!! And hubby can't pick up my meds for me. So I"M STUCK LIKE CHUCK!!! And MY THROAT HURTS!!!!! I wannna go HOME !!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!! But I'm NOT leaving without my medicine!!!!

Go sit down and wait some more for them to call your name for your prescription. heaven forbid you have a controlled substance. For those, you are guaranteed to be the LAST person out of there in the evening hours. Sometimes it would take over an hour just to let them know you were there. I found it easier for me to just get a paper precription and pay the $5 or $9 by going to a civilian pharmacy. Don't have that luxury anymore though. I am at the mercy of the military.
Hope you get your meds soon so you can get home and start feeling better!
