Came thisclose to buying one yesterday but just can't justify the expense right now. But it was sure fun to play with them at the Apple store!

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Christy and my Mother now want IPads. Christy has been using mine more andmore.

:thumbsup2 DH's has "Resistance is Futile" printed on the back of his and I have "ToddyLu's DIS Pad" on mine. :thumbsup2

First I bought an iPhone .... then I bought an iPad ... then I bought an Apple wireless keyboard to go with the iPad ......

Please tell me the next step isn't a MacPro... cause i can't afford anymore nice things!! :rotfl:

I have to say, I clutch onto my iPad and whisper "My precious, my precious" whenever anybody comes close to it. I haven't touched my laptop in a while ... ugh, reminds me... i better turn it on to get the batteries moving and update the virus software. Pfffth, don't have to do THAT with an iPad. :rolleyes1

I got the wireless keyboard too, and am looking at the macbook now too.. waiting for iphone 5 .

Hey, if I even bought one, anyone can.

Just LOVE MLB 11 app with mlb.tv. All baseball, all the time.

That's when I can get it away from my "Angry Bird" kids.

If you really want to mess with your brain, get an Apple TV, too! ;)

There is already two iPod Touches, an iPad and a Mac laptop in the apartment.
This weekend we went to the Verizon store in town and the Apple store in the mall over an hour away. DP loves his constant connection with his 3G iPad and wants the same thing from his iPod Touch. Neither of us use a "phone" for more than half an hour a month.

What we really want is an iEverything, an iPhone with data only plan, no phone minutes. Or, maybe the next iPod Touch will offer a 3G data plan like the iPad has.

He is "this close" to buying the iPhone with two year Verizon contract. Sure, i want the gadget, too. I am unsure I want add a $75 bill to my monthly expenses.

Stay tuned...

I've had my iPad since the week they released the 3G model. I can't imagine my life without it. I truly use it for everything.

I really couldn't see myself using the 3g, so I went wifi only. I guess it all depends on how much you're out and about. For me as a single parent, I'm usually just going to/from work, then home with the kids. from what I've read, it's pretty much evenly split between the 3g/wifi models.

I'd also recommend the "This week in iPad" podcast with my dear friends Leo Laporte and Sarah Lane.

I have an iPod Classic, and then got the Macbook Pro. I have an iPhone for work which I play endless Words with Friends on and I'm really resisting an iPad.

I am thinking I will reward myself with one when we pay off the next chunk of our mortgage in about 9 months time... or maybe Christmas (we don't celebrate it but I'm sure I've been a very good girl this year :rotfl2: )

Glad I don't care for these things, Spend enough time on computers sitting at desk without carrying one around all day with me.. Save me money also.

I recommend opting for the 3G model for several reasons. At least in the original iPad the GPS feature only works on 3G models. One of the most convenient uses for me is to use it as a GPS unit for my vehicles. I just absolutely hate sticking my Tom Tom to the front window. Then there is a wire hanging down, when I park I have to hide it... The iPad is going with me anyway.

I use the XM radio app to listen to music, or sometimes even listen to the latest DisUnplugged podcast on my commute. On our recent trip to WDW (last week) my daughter watched Netflix for a while.

Not to mention being able to use the iPad while in the Disney World Parks. A 30 - 40 minute wait isn't so bad when you are online surfing or sending messages on Lines.

True story - my mom - in her early 70's and never so much as touched a computer, bought an Ipad2 after spending 2 minutes on my sisters. Me on the other hand, am happy with the Iphone/Macbook combo....find the internet experience lacking on the Ipad without flash.....

Woot had the first generation iPad - 64 GB, WiFi and 3G on sale today for $489. I bought one! :cool1:

I'd been hoping to grab a Gen 2 one when they became available refurbished, but with a wait still on the new ones, that looks to be a long time in the future.

And with that, I need to stop spending so much money! :lmao:
