Oh, I hope I haven't messed up...Flying

I just booked airfare to Sanford/Orlando on Allegiant Air. I've never flown with Allegiant and never into Sanford. I booked car service with Florida Transportation and have never used them either. It was do it this way or drive for 12 hours one way. I hope I don't regret this decision. Has anyone had any bad experiences with Allegiant, Sanford, or FT?

I love flying into Sanford. It's a terrific airport, very user friendly. I haven't used Florida Transportation before, but perhaps someone else has.

We've flown allegiant into Las Vegas and back many, many times. Never a hitch at all. Great airline.

I love Allegiant and Sanford. We always fly into Sanford. I rent a car and drive down. I really think that is a better deal than hiring a car service.

Did you compare the cost of renting a car at Orlando-Sanford to using a car service?

Because of the distance from WDW, car services or taxis from Orlando-Sanford tend to cost a lot of money -- often enough to rent a car for a week.

The added bonus of renting a car is that you'll have a car at WDW for trips to off-site shopping, dining, and attractions. Also, even if you prefer using the WDW bus system for resort-to-park transportation, a car is more convenient for resort-to-resort transportation.

Car rental rates are really high right now. I can't find a rate cheap enough. Plus we're staying at The Dolphin which will cost another $50 for parking. The private car works out cheaper this trip. I guess it's because it's a holiday week.

Love Alligiant. Sanford is a nice airport. might be cheaper to rental a car & for one day each way Dolphin or swan has a alamo/national desk.
