This is tougher than I thought. DF and I had picked May 12, 2008 for our DFTW but now we're going back and forth. I don't like the heat much so I started to wonder if March would be better. I've been to disney in March and the weather is perfect. The problem with March is that it's in peak season causing us to stay at a different (ie:cheaper) hotel. Not a biggie really, But I was sooo loking forward to spending my honeymoon at the GF. Then we thought, why don't we just go for a small escape wedding this Dec? The reasoning was since it was so close to Christmas, financial issues would keep most of the family from coming so we wouldn't have to feel guilty about having the smaller ceremony and we could also enjoy the beautiful christmas decorations (and the tax break). That is providing the date is still open. But then I'm concerned that it will be too cold. When would you choose, May, March, or December, and why??? Thanks!!!!!

Oh gosh, picking the date is such a personal decision. We were in Disney in mid-April, and I didn't feel it was really that warm yet, at most mid-80's. I am sure May would be hotter, but...

I wouldn't go with March if you have your heart set on staying at GF! I also don't think Dec would be bad. I bet it would be beautiful! Not too cold I'd imagine, but colder. And an Intitmate wedding may be great anyway! I totall understand about costs for guests and their travel.

We chose an Intimate wedding for lots of reasons, cost, wanting fewer people there, this is my DF's second marriage...etc. And even though it will be HOT, we chose August so that my mom and MOH won't have to take any vacation time as they'll be on summer break from their school jobs. We'll also be going for a 10am time, so maybe try May in the morning?? It wouldn't be as hot in the am.

Just my thoughts. Others who have been married in Dec and May will hopefully give their thoughts. GL!!

Go with what you and your DF want, its your day!

Thanks so much for your reply, the problem in May isn't the temp for the wedding but our ability to enjoy ourselves on our honeymoon at the parks. We may suck it up though if the Dec dates aren't available. You are right though, as pretty as it will be in March, I really don't want to give on my honeymoon plans...thanks for the input!!! :thumbsup2

I've been to the parks several times in March, once the end of april, and once mid-May. I'd choose May because the parks are better!! It really isn't too hot, it doesn't rain much, and the crowds are better/lower. Plus it's the Epcot flower show time, which is a lot of fun, with lots of neat picture taking opportunities.

March has been nice, but I know I have been lucky with the weather because it always rains the week before I get there!

We love, love, love May, but can't go then now because of school.

We're trying December this year, but I think that we will prefer to go when we can visit the water parks.

PS I've also been in July, and the heat + crowds = miserable!! May is not like that.

I think it depends during what part of December you were thinking about. Near the end of the month (like Dec 20ish to Jan 1st) is the holiday season with the highest hotel prices of the year. We were going to get married in December, but then pushed it back until January because of it.

I think it really just depends on your personal preference. I agree with the other post that if you get married in May, I would opt for a morning / early afternoon ceremony before it gets hot if you are going to be outdoors.

We've been there in March too and the weather is perfect (although we were there last December and it was perfect then too). I think I would be leaning a little bit more towards May just because of the pricing. However, if you really want to have an intimate then I would chose December. (I'm fairly indecisive). Good Luck!

I know this sounds crazy - but I think the water parks are open in December too. It just might be a little cool to go swimming...

I just checked the pricing for Dec and we would be there the week before holiday season (which is still value season) and may 1-2 of holiday season, so the pricing isn't bad. DF really wants december but I'm worried the day and time we want will already be booked...ugh! These decisions are killer!

I think they keep one water park open at a time during the winter but it would be too cold for us, lol! I'm not that big of a waterpark fan anyway but I'd love to take advantage of the waterbar at the GF, so May is sounding good to me...decisions, decisions!!

Im getting married may 08 as well! I've only every been to florida in may and I don't think I would go any other time! May was very hot tho when we went (we got quite sun burned). Although the parks were not that busy and we hardley que'd for anything! I would definatly go with may but I'm biased! :goodvibes Then again with regards to the heat, I'm from england so I'm not used to it really anyway!
