There is a huge problem with people locating their families displaced by Katrina. The Red Cross is trying to collate a large number of names so they can get people together. Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity for Microsoft to step in and get some type of network going?

It might also be a place to post animals rescued for families to find or adopt.

Actually...

Not to get technical, but Microsoft would probably not be the best one for this. They need a database that's quite powerful, and Microsoft's Db product isn't top of the line.

IBM would probably be a better choice--they have the in-house consultants, the web servers, and the Db2 technology to support an initiative like this one.

I'd rather see Bill Gates open his house to survivors--he could probably house about half of them :earseek: :earseek: (that part was kind of a joke, I'm sure the Gates Foundation will donate millions to help.)
