Oga's question

Going to DL with my verrrrrry picky food wise granddaughter. I would enjoy and think she was like to have a short drink break in Oga's if I can get a time. I've noticed several of the non alcoholic drinks have Minute maid lemonade, or Sprite or Ginger ale as a mixer. I know most stuff is premixed, but the carbonated stuff needs to be added just before serving, correct ? I would pay full price for the drink, but could she just get the Sprite? I don't think she'd go for anything on the menu with all the mixtures, it looks cool to me, but she's not adventurous that way at all

Has anyone tried to get a "plain" drink?

Honestly I prefer to get Blue Milk from the Milk Stand. It has an icee/slurpee type texture. At Oga's they have Blue Bantha Milk, I am not a big fan though.

What if you just ordered her a water and got 2 for yourself? I think at one point my daughter pulled out a detonator and some doritos from outside and no one batted an eye in Florida, but we had ordered plenty of drinks at that point. Especially if she is relatively young they will probably be more forgiving.

Thanks, I'm surprised that they don't offer something more for the kids, if only bc they want the parents to come in for an adults beverage(s). She wouldn't go for the blue milk but maybe I'd order that and just tell them to bring the cookie! I hate to waste food. Or if we are sharing a table, just order something for someone else. I don't mind paying a drink price for the experience, prob one of the the cheapest things at Disney anyway!

I will say that it’s a really fun experience. My son absolutely loved it and has declared it a “must do” every trip.

I agree, if you order an adult beverage O doubt they would have an issues of yoi kid brought a drink in with her.

Here is my recommendation. If she is a Star Wars go, because they did a decent job of making it look like the cantina, especially the booths. It was really cool to see them, even though I had my drink at the bar. If she is not a Star Wars fan, skip it. There are better drinks in the park and better places to get a drink.

Did you check out the new menu? It looks like it has changed since I was there pre-pandemic. My understanding is that everything, including the non-alchoholic drinks are pre-mixed so you will probably not be able to get a plain, regular drink for her aside from water.

Would she like a mix of juices?

The Jabba Juice is my daughter's favorite, but I understand when you have a picky eater it may not work. The Jabba Juice isn't a crazy color either, it looks a lot like OJ.

Oga's is a cool spot. Even if she just got water I think she would like it. (I am not a huge SW's fan and I love that place!)

the hyperdrive is just sprite and fruit punch, or at least that's what I told my son. He liked it well enough.

I may be an outlier, but I didn't find Oga's to be that great of an experience. As a party of 2, we were placed at a standing table. After walking around and standing in line (with a reservation!) in the heat of Batuu, I didn't love standing to drink my drink. Fortunately it seems you can do Mobile check in now, but I'd rather sit on a bench somewhere with a drink, instead of stand at a table, even if the table is in a wonderfully themed room.

My sister and I are not drinkers, and somewhat picky (she more than I) and I ended up getting the Cliff Dweller. I did not enjoy it. They were only selling it in the Porg mug at the time too, so it was $36.
My sister got the Jabba Juice, and it was a lot more palatable.

I think the only way I'll ever go back is if I'm traveling with someone who really wants an alcoholic drink in Disneyland. I'd still probably rather return to the Blue Bayou.

My daughter said the exact same thing...the Blue Milk is not as good inside Oga's.
It is very different. No one in my family liked it inside. And we didn’t really like the cookie either, other than the white chocolate. We really like the Blue Milk from the Milk Stand.

It was a one and done for us too. I don’t drink (not really a fan of Disney selling alcohol in the parks) and my kids and I didn’t like the Blue Bantha Milk. My girlfriend did like whatever drink she got and said she would get it again. We did have a table. However, as big Star Wars fans we really thought Disney missed on the theming. The magic of the Star Wars cantinas are all of the aliens providing a dynamic atmosphere. That is missing from Oga’s. They don’t even have an alien band playing music (which is a staple of Star Wars). It is kind of cool that they use the old droid from Star Tours as a DJ, but he really doesn’t do anything. We actually prefer the theming at Docking Bay 7 for these reasons.

We got in as walk ins and were in and out in about a half hour -- but the park was closing soon, so we knew it would be a quickie. We really just wanted to see everything inside and try a few things to eat and drink. I'd probably never go back, unless with someone who's never been.
