Hello! My husband and I are planning an adults only trip for December. Is there a hotel that is not a disney property that is within walking distance to the Boardwalk area that is behind Epcot? Thanks!

Aside from the Swan and Dolphin hotels which are considered onsite but are not owned by Disney there's nothing else that would be walking distance. It's just not the way WDW works, you just don't have Hampton Inns surrounded by Disney hotels. You would have a good 45 minute walk or so to get to Downtown Disney which does have some offsite hotels nearby and that is not recommended as I don't believe Buena Vista Drive has sidewalks along the entire route.

Bonnet Creek would be doable, but I'm not sure it's a safe walk. I don't recall a lot of sidewalks. It would be a short cab ride or they do have a shuttle service.

Disney does not allow walking to and from the resorts because it is not safe. there are no sidewalks. Your best bet is to take a cab.
