It has been several years since we have been to Disney and I am trying to remember the best way to get to rope drop at MK. We are driving to the ticket and transportation center. Do they still hold guests there before letting them board the monorail? I think I remember using the resort monorail last time, but I'm not sure..

Yes you will park at the TTC and board the monorail once it arrives. YOu will want to take the express monorail which goes directly to MK. The resort monorail goes to all the resort and MK.

You will park at the TTC and either board the monorail, or the ferry to the Magic Kingdom. They will not hold you at the TTC until the park opens. Once you board, they will take you to the magic Kingdom where they will hold you at the front entrance until the park opens.

Valet park at the Contemporary resort and walk over. Someone here recommended that when we were planning last year and it was the best advice for us. It is good all day and you can come and go very easily. You can even move to another resort if you have reservations.

Just keep in mind that you should still tip each time you move to a different valet location.

If you get to the TTC really early, you sometimes have no choice but to take the resort monorail. Sometimes the express monorail has not passed all of its safety checks by the time we have arrived. We try to arrive at MK about 50-60 minutes prior to rope drop so we can gather near the tunnel entrance and not be force to wait just outside the turnstiles.

Absolutely!! Just a great way to avoid the parking chaos at ttc. We also planned meals at the resorts we valeted at. It was great for my brother who took a midday break too...they were able to come and go very easily.
