"Offsite" Restaurants Walking Distance to DLH?

The menu prices @ DL are scaring me , looking for a few options outside of the park to try in additon to the ones i've seen recommended here.

Know of Mimi's & Milli's on Harbor-a bit of a walk though from our home base of DLH (or is it?) Is Mimi's the better of the two?

Of couse, there are the DTD options too, we've eated @ Rainforests & ESPN before, wanted to try something else if available.

Just wondering, are there any other places (chains, etc.) on the other side of park on block where DLH is located or in walking distance where we can grab a bite to eat that isn't owned by the Mouse?

Just south on Katella there's a Denny's, a Coco's, and a Tilly's, all coffee shops.

The Anaheim Garden Walk just opened up several new restaurants last Fall. Cheesecake Factory and Bubba Gumps, California Pizza Kitchen and PF Changs.

And there's Coco's, which I liked (veggie burger), on Katella and Disneyland Drive (?), which is a very pleasant walk from DLH over to Paradise Pier, then up to Katella.

i've been watching the Gardenwalk area, restaurants seem to be opening now...how long of a walk from DLH or front gate area?

while purusing the menus @ DL it appears as though their menus are far more "trendy/healthier" than WDWexcept for the monte crisco sammich

my DH & DS will starve if i cannot find chicken fingers, hamburgers & steak; chinese ok...no mexican food or californian cuisine for them

There's still plenty of places in both parks that serve pizza and burgers! I think chicken nuggets are gone, but chicken breast tenders are available as a kid's meal at a lot of places. And you'll still find steak at the better restaurants. Have you looked at the menu for PCH Grill? That has lots of burgers and that type of thing. You might also want to check out Hook's Pointe - it has steak and seafood, and it's not California Cuisine.

Where is Garden Walk located? Walking distance? I haven't left the resort at all since DCA opened, so am really clueless now.
Where is that Character Warehouse or whatever the outlet shop in Fullerton is called?

its kind far actually. The opened resturants at Garden walk is actually on Katella so its easier if you walk South and make a right on katella.

Try allears.net for tons of menus. There is alot of good mexican choices..both in DTD and in DCA. We really like La Brea Bakery in DTD..great quiche and lots of other offerings..not just a bakery. Nice sandwiches. etc.

A lot of the restaurants in Downtown Disney have a very varied menu.
The food is good at a lot of the restaurants (we've eaten at most) and the portions are very large in my opinion, so sharing meals, or appetizers or desserts is an option to keep costs down as well. It is close, convenient and a nice break from the parks.
The Anaheim Gardenwalk sounds really good. We will check this out on our next trip. Thanks for the info. everyone!
