Offsite Restaurants for Breakfast

I wanted suggestions on places near Universal to go for an inexpensive breakfast. We will have a car, but don't want to go too far and get caught in traffic. We like buffets if they have a lot of fresh fruit, etc., but ordering from a menu is ok, too.

There's a Ponderosa right across from Universal on Kirkman. I think it's like $3.95 per person for the breakfast buffet. We didn't have the breakfast buffet but the dinner buffet was great!

I agree with the Ponderosa. We found it after spending $10 per person for the buffet at the Radisson right next door!

And there's always good ol' McDonalds on Kirkman for a quick drive thru!

We are staying at PBH but will not be renting a car. Will we be able to walk to Ponderosa? How far and how do you get there. Thanks

The Ponderosa is a long walk from PBH. PBH is on the Turkey Lake Drive side of Universal. There isn't much in that area, except for Dr. Phillips High School. There's a K-Mart and 7-Eleven down the road, but it will be quite a walk to them.

PBH does have a full breakfast buffet for around $14 and a continental breakfast buffet for around $7. The buffet includes coffee and juice. That might be an alternative if you don't have a car.

Is there an IHOP or other places in the area? Ponderosa sounds good, but I was hoping for another place or two for variety.

If you take the shortcut to Ponderosa, it really isn't that far. It took us about 10-15 minutes. You can find the shortcut here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=179339&highlight=ponderosa+shortcut just scroll down a bit and you'll find it.

Cracker Barrel

It's hiding across the street, off of Major Blvd, at 5859 Caravan Court. The directions say it's behind the Mystery Fun House.

On the website, you can locate it with the 32819 zip code.

It's great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn on I-Drive and have heard that there will be a Sizzler not so far away. Another alternative will be Dunkin-Donuts for "take-away" donuts and bagels - not every day though!
