Hi all!

My friends are heading down to Disney Nov. 21 - Dec. 1. They are a family of 4. They asked me if it was possible to get a room for $100 a night or less, with kitchenette, close to Disney. They'd prefer to stay IN Disney, but I didn't think they could get a room with kitchenette for under $100.
I've never looked for a kitchenette room before, so I'm not sure.

Could someone tell me about some possible hotels or websites they should try? Thanks!

Probably, but not in Disney.

Actually since that is over Thanksgiving which is VERY busy it's going to be harder.

I did a quick check (Can you tell I am bored at work??) and found Springfield Suites for $109, Cypress Point at $100, and Country Inn and Suites for $99

I would tell your friend to book soon. Lots of places showed sold out for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Hi,
Go to HotelKingdom.com and
enter Lake Buena Vista as the destination. Look for
Cypress Pointe and Cypress Point Grand Villas. As posted above,
they had better hurry and book before they fill up.
Good Luck

Yep!! We stayed at the Homewood Suites on Parkway(5-10 minutes) for 79.00/night. Go to Hilton website and check periodically. I'll bet you can find a good price.

Ooooo, yeah, CarolA is right. That's over Thanksgiving.

Do your friends go to WDW often? Do they really want to go at that busy time of year? ( I mean Nov. 23-27)

We will be checking in on Nov. 26th..........laying low for a day so the crowds can filter out and then it becomes much nicer in the parks. It's also easier to find a place if you are checking in on the 26th, 27th.

Will they have a car? I wouldn't do off-site without a car, but that's just me.

If they do, Skyauction still has availability for Nov. 25th, 26th at some places.

These would all be $210 in fees plus your winning bid. I have won bids for $20, $50, $61, $70 and $91.........so for around $300 or less, you can have 7 nights.

I wouldn't stay offsite without a rental car and getting a good rate on a rental car may be difficult.

The might want to try the mouseavers rate at the Double Tree in DTD. The rate with a continental breakfast is around $160 or around $145 without the breakfast. The DTD hotels share a bus that runs ever 20-30 minutes.

Thanks everyone! They're driving down so a car isn't a problem. I emailed my friend all of your info. Thanks so much!

Another place they could try is Tropicalpalms.com. This is a campground that has cottages. They are usually around $100 a night but it might be a little more since it is the holiday week.

Check hotelmartusa.com. They have several suites for way less than $100 a night for those dates.

Actually we rented points and are staying at OKW from Oct 30-Nov5 for 8 points a night and we rented the points for $10/point! Thats $80 a night! We are staying in a studio but it has a microwave, fridge, toaster, coffeemaker etc. Try the DVC calculator to see how many points are needed for that time of year.

How did you get that for 8 points a night on Nov. 4th........I thought that was a weekend at 24 pts?

that's a deal for a studio at 8 points but it's $240 a night for a weekend and $110 over the holiday...........but I don't think she could get it this late. Wouldn't it be pretty booked up? Maybe not, I don't know.

Since this is over Thanksgiving weekend the points requirement is much higher 27 points for Friday alone.

Total points at OKW (which is your cheapest) in a studio would be 118 x $10 $1,180, which comes out to about $110 per night. Not to mentiona that getting all of these dates really hard this late.

Carol, yes OKW comes to $110 a night, but there is no tax, occupancy fees, etc. that you will have to pay at a regular hotel, so it is basically the same as a regular hotel @ $100 anight. And it is ON property, a benefit in and of itself. It may not be too late. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to put what you are looking for on the DVC rent/trade board, it could come through. I would give it a shot, what have you got to loose??

I'd look for a 3 bdrm condo at Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms. You'll have everything you need, they are very close to the parks and both have great swimming pools and resort amenities for the family to enjoy.

VRBO (vacation rental by owner) is the best deal available. The amount you can save over hotel rooms and by cooking some of your own meals can make your WDW vacation downright affordable.

There is a glut of lovely homes and condos for all but the busiest weeks. That's bad for the owners, but good for us vacationers. We've booked a 6 bdrm pool home for about the same price you are looking for, although we'll be there during a very slow week in January. Contact me if you need more details.
