Gold Mobility is my choice. Yes, it’s a PITB to pick off and drop off in person, but they have the newest and best scooters at a great price.
I rented from Gold while staying at the.Dolphin. Bell services delivery. They gave me a key with a BP Mobility labeled key. I said something. Bellhop said my name was.on the Gold scooter and the key works. I didn't want to argue with the logic. The biggest PITB I had was with a scooter that was dropped off at bell services (back in the day when many companies could drop off there. Bell services said that someone (?) had taken the key to my scooter so I waited at least 30 minutes while they found a key that worked. Since then, I've always rented from a company that I would meet-that way I got the key directly from the company! And for me, it's always happened to be Gold Mobility-no complaints.
Interesting comparison. I've met a couple people who've rented from Walker lately, and they've been very happy. The idea of a cloth seat with an unexpected rain storm doesn't sound like fun!our trip last month definitely gave us a side-by-side comparison between Gold and Walker scooters. My mom had reserved a Gold scooter about 6-weeks before our arrival. On the 2nd day, I ended up with a foot injury and needed to stay off my foot. I was able to order a scooter from Walker while we were at breakfast and it was delivered to the Swan by 10:30am.
The Gold scooter had a vinyl seat. And although could get hot, it at least was resistant to rain. The Waller scooter was cloth and when it rained, even with a poncho, it was difficult to keep dry.
The Walker scooter was extremely slow, even at full-speed, it just. Luke not keep pace with the Gold scooter. It also did not keep the battery at the same level that the Gold scooter did.
Hands down, Gold was an excellent rental and had they had availability for a short-notice rental, I totally would’ve gone with them.
It is interesting. My mom rented from walker last year and there were some issues that gave me pause from renting from them again, but those issues side, the scooter we eventually did end up with did not have cloth seats either. I wonder if I got a scooter they tend to not rent out as frequently because I rented same-day? One plus that walker seems to have over gold’s is that I can actually get someone on the phone to talk to without waiting forever on hold. My mom did end up texting gold’s her question about return date and got a prompt response back.Interesting comparison. I've had lots of experience with the rear basket. The second time I had to take it off on the bus, as soon as I got back to the room, there it stayed. It wasn't a problem to hold it on the bus, the problem was when I got off the bus, I had to drive while carrying it back to my room (I was solo, and the process of reattaching it wasn't really a "solo-friendly" task. The first few times I needed an ECV, I rented one that breaks down, similar to the Go-Go Sport. The rear basket was fine on that, and I never had to remove it. But then I decided to upgrade to a more comfortable seat (Pride Victory?) and that's where I ran into the rear basket problems. The first time I went somewhere with it, I got on the bus OK, and the bus driver didn't say anything, but in trying to get off the bus, I ended up stuck in the parking space and it took 2 people to practically lift me out. And meanwhile everyone else on the bus was giving me the evil I since I was holding everyone up. This wasn't fun! Ultimately I had to decide-I could have increased comfort (I think they call it a "captain's chair") or a rear basket, but not both. Comfort won out.We are getting ready to make our ECV reservation and it mentions if we opt to have the rear basket that we may need to remove it on buses? Has anyone experienced this? And if you had to how hard was it to do so and then keep it with you on the bus?
