Has anyone ever had a close friend become a notary public/mail-order-minister/etc to be able to do the ceremony at your wedding?

we are doing that for our wedding in october - we asked my uncle to become a minister thru the universal life church

My brother is an ordained minister and has done 1 wedding. We have asked him to do ours and I couldn't be happier with the decision!!

Florida does allow a notary to perform the ceremony and marry people (I have!!) but they must be a FLORIDA notary...
