Officiant gift or dinner?

I know under normal circumstances the officiant attends the rehearsal dinner, is invited to the reception and given a gift. Since we do not know our officiant (Jack Day) and he is sort of a rented officiant, does this still apply? I am not sure what to do--certainly don't mind if he comes, but not sure how to handle invite...

I was wondering this also. Do we have to include our DJ, Officiant, EM, Photographer, etc. at the reception (in the guest count?)?

I'll try to answer your questions. Generally the rule is that you tip individuals that you hire outside of Disney if they are not the owner of the business supplying the service - you don't have to tip the Disney employees. We did not tip Randy Chapman - however, we did add a $25 tip to Rev. Day's fee because he was wonderful at our rehearsal. You don't have to inculde those providing service in your guest count - but you do have to let your EM know, as they will add on the appropriate number of deli plates to your bill (they get a deli plate, not your expensive plated meal). We invited Jack Day to both our rehearsal and reception, he declined both - this is his normal practice. You can buy gifts for your EM and others that you think have gone above and beyond, but it is not expected. We did not buy our EM a gift. We were reassigned to him right before the wedding and didn't have any feelings one way or the other about his performance. Others have purchased small tokens of appreciation and some buy expensive gifts - it is really up to you and your means.
