:woohoo:OK, so I'm super excited (like most of you) about yet another trip to Disney World. This time is my other half's first time (I don't coun't his HS trip because it was worthless, just trust me on this one) to see the Mouse and he doesn't even know it yet! Originally we had a trip planned for September over my birthday with a friend, but due to circumstances being what they were a couple months ago, we had decided to cancel the trip. Well, being a true Disney-phile, I kept my ressies and still have them...and he doesn't know:rolleyes1

Sadly, we can't go over my birthday and after long and hard thought (while at work, none the less) I have decided to go ahead and do a October trip. I've decided on The end of October probably a 6night/7day trip leaving either the 29th or 30th. Where I'm having issues with is deciding whether to go ahead and do his dream resort, AKL (CL because I want that and he wants at least a savannah view), or do something like PORFQ or CBR. He has also stated that he doesn't want a value resort because to him, "it's like a Motel 6 at Disney." I know that's not true, as that's all I've ever stayed at, but I do at least want a moderate for this trip. I want to show him an amazing awesome time and make this the trip that gets him to fall in love with Disney, so I really want this to be good.

The other part to this is, that even though I'm super excited, he doesn't know yet. He's dropped hints that I missed his birthday (he knew what I tried to do and it fell through --a new car), so I'm thinking I'll surprise him on the day of the month his birthday falls on, the 21st. My big debate now (even bigger than where to stay, if you can believe it:eek:) is when to tell him (month) and how to tell him. I want to keep it to our place, since I'm not sure how he's gonna take it. I've heard ideas from not telling him until we leave (which is a big no no, he'll flip in a very wrong way) to giving him a basket at Brave at the local theater (again, not really viable). How do you surprise a grown, 31 year old man, with a trip to Disney World?:confused::confused::confused:

I'm so excited about the trip, and after he get surprised, I'm sure he will be too. On a side note, I am planning on taking him to the MNSSHP, but am debating the 30th or the 31st (thinking the 31st). He definitely wants to go to that, so that's already a done deal. If anyone has any really good ideas on how to surprise him, I'm open. I'd love to hear them. I'm so excited to go back. I was just there in January, but hey, it's the Mouse...lol I'm all over it:love:

Thanks in advance!!!!

(And I swear I've been on these boards before, but I couldn't find my ID...oh well ;) )

OK, so it's already time for an update to this post...

I made a call earlier and got the reservation set in stone to Oct 29-Nov 5 at CBR (that still may yet change but at least I have that, lol) with an 8 day ticket with PH and DDP. I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the new ressie or the fact that I still kept my hotel discount I didn't think I'd get!:banana: I'm still not sure how to tell him, but I'm hoping for some good ideas as I get more and more excited I may not be able to hold out long :P

I do want to surprise him with a couple things, one I was thinking of is the fireworks dessert party at MK if it's still going (I went in Jan as a surprise to my mom and we both loved it), another is the illuminations cruise and I want to take him to raglan road since we both love anything Scottish and Irish (odd foods included, lol).

Does anyone have any other suggestions for things to do? He's not much for driving or I'd send him on the Richard Petty experience...

Thanks again in advance!!:woohoo::woohoo:
