We leave for our VERY first Disney trip friday am about 4:30!! I am officially freaking out and panicking

I have a few questions for my fellow canadians who have travelled before.

1. Have any of you packed bottles of water in your suitcase? If so how did you pack it, eg. did u ziplock it and how much did you take?

2. Can I pack a single cup coffee maker and a baggie of timmie's coffee to make in my room?

3. Does my 11 year old son sign his own passport???

That's it, if someone could answer these questions for me that would be great.

Oh, I wish we were going to WDW on Friday, lucky you! You will have a great time. I have never bothered to take water with us. We just buy it there at the Wal-mart or at the parks. I know you can save $ by taking it yourself but the suitcase would be very heavy and maybe over the weight limit. My daughter who was 9 when she got her passport had to sign her own so I'd say your son should too. I don't know where you are staying but the moderate resorts have coffee makers. I am sure you can take your own coffee maker with you if you are staying at a value. When we stayed at POP I just bought a refillable mug and got coffee in it every morning. The coffee was awful but at least it was caffeine! If you are fussy about your coffee, I'd take the coffee maker.
Just a bit of advice especially since it is your first time - don't get too hung up on the small stuff like water. There are vendors selling water everywhere at all the parks. A bottle of water cost about $2.00 which is ridiculous but it is available if you need it. It will be hot and humid and you will sweat but find cool places to take a break, everything is air conditioned. I know when I went for the first time I was over prepared and didn't use half the stuff I took. Now when we go I just go with the flow and I enjoy it much more. You can't see everything so don't even try. Just enjoy what you can fit into your schedule and plan to see the rest another time - because you will be going back, I guarantee it.
We are going through Disney withdrawal this year - no trip! We are actually in England right now visiting family. We have been to WDW the last 3 Augusts in a row and plan to go again in Aug 08. So have lots of fun and take time to enjoy it and have a chocolate Mickey cake from the Main Street Bakery for me!

Hi Steph,

DH and I are heading out the door in about.....5 minutes. We packed an extra (3rd-we have 2 with clothes and such) suitcase that has 24 water bottles, 2 beach towels and a couple of mugs. It's a small (carryon size) suitcase, the 2 1/2 cases fit nicely and it weighs in at 42 pounds or so. Coming home....it will be empty or full of dirty clothes! I just put it in (didn't ziplock it). Fingers crossed that all will go well. I always get in a nervous state and am just aiming to get to the airport. Have a GREAT trip!

Have a great first trip to Disney:cool1: My DD12 signed her own passport. There is a little letter with the passport that tells you the age of when they sign their own. DD8 I signed. I never bother with water or a coffee maker but that is your call if you want to lug it with you. If you do I too would use a separate suitcase. I could be wrong but I think if your a Costco member you can have water delivered to your room.

Easier to buy the water there! Both of my kids signed their passports!

Have a GREAT trip - we leave tomorrow too but are cruising for a week first..... not sure now where we are cruising to b/c of hurricane Dean in the Caribean BUT we'll be cruising to somewhere - then we'll be at Disney for our 2nd week!

SO far today I have been to walmart, been to the dollar store, the bank, the clinic where I work, cause I feel a sinus infection coming on! Now I have all my stuff bought and have to finish packing.

I think I might just throw in 6 bottles in each suitcase, not bother with the coffee maker.

I have to call the airline because my suitcase measures 65 inches long and the northwest website says they must be no longer than 62 linear inches.

Do NOT want to have to pay. I am not worried about the weight as they are only about 1/2 full. And we only have 2 for the 2 of us, we are allowed 4.

OMG just get me there and once I am on the plane I will be fine.

To all of you who have answered thank you. Those of you who are going to disney, have a magical trip and I will post when I get back.

Stephanie

Have a great and safe trip!
