While I wasn't completely pleased with the discussion at tonight's VP debate on the issue of Gay Marriage, I was so impressed with Joe Biden that I have to jump off the fence and run straight to the Obama camp.
I had been on the fence and jumped down off the fence onto the Obama side when Palin was announced as the VP pick for McCain, but tonight's debate was the clincher for me. I watched the presidental debate a couple of weeks ago and liked what I heard from Obama, but I was waiting for tonight's debate to give myself a bit more of a chance to see if Palin could wow me back to my usual stand on the republican side of the fence.
I wasn't wow'ed at all by Palin, but Biden really made me feel much more certain that Obama was the man for the job the next 4 years. I realize that no matter who takes office, they are going to be handed a big ole crapburger with the economy being in the dumpster and the war lagging on. I feel a bit sorry for whoever takes on the challenges of the job, but I think that Obama has more of a clue than McCain. I like what I am hearing and I think that it's going to take a "fresher" politician to reign it all in.
So, consider me off the fence and soundly in the Obama camp. Who's with me?
