Okay, I'm sure this is a really stupid question, but how do you download music to Rock Band? I looked for options in the game, on the website and in the instruction booklet (which I haven't found helpful at all!).

Here's a story:
Wii Downloads in 2009

Right now you can't download songs for RB on the Wii. Only with the 360 and PS3.

Which Rockband do you have? It can only be done with RB2.

I was a Rock Band "widow" this weekend.... my boyfriend spent the whole weekend going on a solo guitar tour! First on "easy", then on "medium".

I'm sure he would appreciate any tips or tricks you may have!! It gets pretty tough!!

Also, is there a super-difference between Rock Band and Rock Band 2? Would it be worth it to get just the game of Rock Band 2? More music and make your own character seem to be the only differences that I can see.

A few helpful hints for Rockband!

1) You NEED to learn to play both hammer on's and pull off's...if you don't know what I mean by that use the Rb tutorial!

2) Hold the strumbar between your index finger and thumb...do not be afraid ro strum both up and down...infact once u get to expert you almost have to some of the notes come so fast.

3) the hand that is on the "frets" should really be sitting so the index finger is on the red and not the green...it's easier to train you index finger to slide up to the green then your pinky to slide down to orange((My buddy is great at this, but I still have a hard time doing this since i learned by playign with my index on green))

4) Take baby steps...easy, med, hard, expert...It also helps to play on the harder levels with a partner or band since they can save you if you fail (2 times) or to play with NO FAIL mode on.

Can you buy just a guitar for Rock Band? We already have Guitar Hero World Tour (complete) and Aerosmith. I have no intention of buying a whole other set but I would like to play RB as well. I have heard that RB has a better selection of music and I have to admit that I would really like the AC/DC. I hope both systems come out with more games focused on particular artists.

I just got Outdoor Challenge and love love love the game. It has a mat that you use and can play alone, challenge a friend or teamwork. It is quite a workout as well. My girls also love playing.

RB1 definitely does not download.

Yes. They can be hard to find sometimes though. Try Game Stop. Hopefully their employees will help you find one that is compatible with both games.

You can also buy RB with just the RB guitar.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess since Rock Band has been going on and on about how many songs they offer and updated recently, I assumed (wrongly) that songs could be downloaded. I guess that explains why I can't find a way to do it!

Also, thanks "The_Horned_King" for the tips! I'm definitely passing those along! I see what you mean about learning to strum both up and down. We've realized that's what we need to learn to do...no easy task!

Cool. I was really surprised to find no info about songs actually being available yet, when it was a big deal when the game came out. It would be awesome to have some first hand knowledge!

Update: Downlaodable content is NOT YET ready for the wii Rockband2. My brother was wrong! Sorry for the misinformation. According to the www.rockband.com/wii website it will be "available in early 2009" I will ley you know as soon as I can do it, though!

I'm trying to figure out why, when I linked my game/wii to my profile online, all of our bands don't show up. Only 3 are there, but the one where it's just DH and I is missing. Any ideas?

My Dh got me the picture of the WII and $400 for xmas b/c he couldn't find any here in South Florida. I just wanted to share that I finally got my hands on one today after calling gamestop,target and best buy almost every morning. I had to drive about 1hr south but I was on campus today anyway and it was only 10 minutes from campus. Just wanted to say to those in areas where its hard to come by, Hang in there!!!!!!!

BTW the game stop lady said they got a shipment on Monday THAT PEOPLE STOLE! People are that desperate around here apparently

Sorry, I can't help...maybe the band name wasn't kid friendly enough? I know we've had issues with that on the Xbox.

Wanted to report that DS13 has had Excite Truck out from gamefly this week. He liked it a lot. Not enough to buy it though. He's played it on and off all week and it's in the mailbox going back today. He said it's a pretty good game and he's been wanting to try it for a while but I guess it didn't hold his interest more than GHIII so he was ready to send it back in order to concentrate on GHIII again which he's been playing pretty constantly. He was not good at GH at all when he first got it having only played the game once. He has since beaten all the songs on Easy and on Medium but he can't get the hang of hard at all! Now I think he's going back and beating all the Easy and Medium again for 5 star reviews to get more money to buy stuff. I'm sure he'll get the hang of the Hard level eventually! I'm glad this was such a hit as I wasn't sure, DS13 is not a real musical kind of kid but he really likes this!

Hard is definitely hard when u add the extra button!

LOL! I think we had one of those at first, but we've re-named ourselves to Mouse MAD (Mon And Dad) and we have been informed that our name is acceptable for online use!
I'll keep playing around and see if I can get it to work. No major deal if it doesn't really.

ROCK BAND 2 Downloadable Songs now up!!! 20 of them are FREE!!!
