Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I can't believe that I'm just now seeing this!:faint:

I tried to read all of the pages and links provided, but could someone please confirm:

The dates include during the week, not just the weekends, correct?

I've got figure out if want to spend the extra money, but the set-up at Sci-Fi sounds appealing especially since we were going to eat there one day during the week anyway (albeit, for dinner, not breakfast).

Decisions, decisions . . .

One last thing! Do you think they will take TIW discount?

I was able to get a reservation for both, even though DH is not 100% sure that we are going yet. However, this really tipped the scales in our favor, because, even though we both love Star Wars, we didn't want to have to wait the whole day to see our favorites. This means that we'll only have to fight to get a good spot at the parade and to get the good merchandise.

This is exactly why I won't mind paying $60 for it (I was probably gonna spend that much at Brown Derby anyway, lol). I'm so excited. And so tired. Ugh, today is gonna be a looooooooong day at work.

Yes, weekdays as well. Not sure about TIW

Several people have posted on other threads that they asked about TIW and were told no discounts on these two events.

Oh well re: TIW. Now just to figure out what to do. I already spent extra money on water park tickets this year, so I don't know if I can justify it. I'll see what the boys say when I get home.

We are booked at Sci Fi at 8:05 May 16th! Quick question- Which one do you think is better in terms of saving time in line in the park? And which one would you want to do more regardless of time in line- just which characters you want to see more?

Well the fab 4 is not always all together. So there's a chance you'd have to line up twice to get all of them. And that queue is just horrible... At least Vader is in the shade. So I'd say dinner.

Initially, I just wanted to do the dinner, so, when I asked DH which one he wanted to do, he said, "Can't we do both?" It was a little pathetic. We got to meet the Stormtroopers at DL once, but not Vader. They were a lot of fun actually.

And, in class today, I told my students that one of the words they used for their translation was not the word they were looking for. Crickets. :sad2:

Thank you Disney Vacation Club! Was on hold for 5 mins and was able to score a 9:10am breakfast at Sci Fi on May 30th through Member Services!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

That is interesting. When I called Member services at 9:30 this morning I was told they could not book reservations until tomorrow. I hung up and did the disney dining line and after 40 minutes on hold was able to book breakfast for 6/1 at 8:30am. I sure hope it is worth it.

I was on hold for quite a while but eventually got through calling the WDW-Dine #. I wasn't able to get the late time I wanted for breakfast for the Star Wars Dine-in, but I did get a reservation for the day I wanted. The CM told me that it was Star Wars day on the phones. LOTS of people calling in. Just happy we got our reservation!

This is all that it says from the HUB
Guests will get a selection of pastries, choice of yogurt parfait or fruit cup, and choice of entree.
I'm thinking the entrees will be similar to these, maybe Star Wars inspired...i mean, come on, they have to have blue milk for breakfast

I am thinking this breakfast description sounds very much like the one they served at Cindy's Royal Table in the Castle (it was about 5 years ago I did that one). If so it's an ok breakfast but then again I am comparing it to Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast which I still believe it the best character breakfast for the buck...

We aren't going to our Galactic SW Dine-In Breakfast until June 1st at 8 am, so my food report on the place will be a little late in the game BUT I will still tell ya what we get.

(PS: We are also booked at Jedi Mickey's SW Dinner at Hollywood and Vine for May 31st at 5pm, and I'll tell ya about that one too :) )

I booked our dining reservations at the 180 day mark and included Sci Rest for lunch and Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic dinner (6 PM) meal as one of our bookings.

I questioned at the time of booking whether H&V Fantasmic would be a 2 dining credit charge. If so, then we were not interested in the Fantasmic package.

Now I find out Disney is changing the value to now be worth 2 credits!!!

I am not at all upset that the characters will be there in Star Wars themed dress but I am disgruntled that the cost will not be 2 credits!!! :badpc:

Will Disney send me an email notifying me of the credit change? I hope so but am not counting on it.

They probably won't send you an email. But you can be assured that the Star Wars breakfast AND dinner cost 2 dining credits. That has been confirmed here. If you don't want to pay 2 credits, you'll need to cancel. Or pay out of pocket.

If you already had a reservation and they don't contact you it will be a real problem as people may not have enough credits to pay for dinner and they can't cancel because there won't be anywhere else to go. It was not the brightest move making either of these 2 credits IMO. They could have easily said cash only and that would solve the credits issue.

I got H&V for Thursday, May 22nd- Fantasmic Pkg

DH said no to the breakfast because of the price but I'm really tempted to call back and see if I can get it. Then watch for pics the weekend before and see what it is like.

I called DVC on my cell phone and Disney dining on my landline. Disney dining was the winner and answered first.

Still debating if SW Character meals are worth the funds...

Here's one thing you might wanna think about... When we waited in line for characters last year it was a crap shoot if you got who you wanted...

Remember if they do it the same way they did last year the characters rotate in the line you are in... like for Jedi Mickey, Leia Miney, Darth Goofy, and Storm trooper Donald all rotated... (we happened to fall under a luck star last year and actually got all four of them at once - one of their wild moments).

This rotation holds true for Boba Fett and Janga Fett... we never got Boba Fett pictures last year because of how the rotation fell.

So for me the price of these character meals is worth not trying to wait in line and hope and pray that the character I got in line for is the one I will get!

Just a thought.... :scratchin

Just noticed on MDE that my reservation shows it now as worth 2 DP Credits. Guess that is Disney's way of notifying us!!!:confused3

Actually the Fab 4 will be inside Darth Mall this year so at least there's A/C, also, in case you don't know, Darth Mall will be in the building between Backlot Tour and TSMM

Really really wanted to do this...the breakfast especially, but the prices are outrageous :sad2:, especially for my family of 6. We have the money, but to spend $300 on a character dinner/breakfast when its just for the hubby and I, (kids could care less about Star Wars), I am not sure we can justify it. But oh do I want to!
