Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

Since Disney wasn't doing anything special for May the 4th this year, we thought it was a good day for a Star Wars character meal!

well, its Disney World, so I'd expect some thin soggy Disney bacon, a scoop of Disney scrambled egg stuff, a couple of Disney sausage links, a hard Disney buicuit, and maybe some cold Disney potatoes or a Mickey waffle. Maybe they'll snaz it up with a little Kessel spice or nerf patties. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xlN_vL9yZ_I/Uj54_TqeV5I/AAAAAAAAAxc/J2c3zwfEavU/s1600/117.JPG http://mousetalestravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/MTT_OhanaBkfst04.jpg

You may be right. I would hope at these prices they would wheel out steamer tables and do a breakfast buffet.

They may just shuttle food over from H&V. At least for that price I'd expect edible food and as much as you like especially since they will have to justify the 2 credit charge.

We booked the breakfast for May 9th so I'll post afterwards how it went.

Can't wait to hear. I'm also hoping they make both a worthy 2 credit meal. I wonder how people who don't frequent these boards will feel when they arrive for their Fantasmic packages to find it full of star wars and costing 2 credits since disney did not mail me to say me existing reservation had changed.

Counting down to 14th May!

I just hope that this bodes well for more Star Wars themed stuff in the future! I've never eaten at Sci Fi, but it sounds like it might be the perfect venue for a permanent Star Wars themed meal.

I hate to say it but I wouldn't expect anything spectacular food wise. The cash price and 2 dining credits is you paying for the experience. It's new and in high demand. You want it, you're paying a premium. We booked both and mostly for the experience. I'm not expecting anything but a scoop of eggs, some bacon and hopefully a muffin of some sort.

The new meals sound fun, but they're too expensive for us. We'll just stick to seeing the characters at the normal spots. :thumbsup2

Thank you all for the tips! I just got breakfast at SciFi at 10:30am on Fri May 23. Also not sure it's worth two dining credits, and I can't find any photos online (yet) of previous years - is this the first time they've done it?

Any thoughts on which would be more worth two dining credits? I could try to make a dinner reservation at H&V for the previous night instead...

This is all that it says from the HUB
Guests will get a selection of pastries, choice of yogurt parfait or fruit cup, and choice of entree.
I'm thinking the entrees will be similar to these, maybe Star Wars inspired...i mean, come on, they have to have blue milk for breakfast

I'm just thrilled to be able to sit down not rush and meet the disney characters in their star wars garb. I know my wife will love that and we don't have to rush fantastic. Now just waiting to see chewie and this part of the trip will be perfect!

We're going more for 24 hr event and leaving the Sunday after so this gives us the chance to do some Star Wars stuff without the stand and wait part, maximizing time!

I agree with you, this will be terribly popular especially for a park that only has one character meal and that's with characters from Disney Jr.

YES!! Totally agree, you are paying for the experience and getting all those characters without having to wait in line for 3 hours (do the math: Darth Vader+ Bobba Fett, yeah the roaming characters are easier to get but you don't have to be shoved while other people try and get a pic)
The new meals sound fun, but they're too expensive for us. We'll just stick to seeing the characters at the normal spots. :thumbsup2
Yeah, it's an expensive one but many will opt for this rather than making all the lines.

It's the first year for these character meals and I would base my decision on the characters that they have more than the food they offer.
Breakfast is with the Dark Side and Sci Fi is perfect because of its atmosphere.
Dinner will be with the Disney characters as Star Wars characters. You would have to wait in line at least 2 hours to get them all (and that's if you time it perfectly and are there at rope drop)

Oh! That sure would be nice! Though I guess we are paying for the experience not so much the food. But I can still dream of a buffet spread like the Captain's Grille or The Wave. :thumbsup2

Good idea!

It sounded good to me too! We didn't do the F! package though. Who knows maybe they'll still do something low key for May the 4th?

The meals are a bunch of money, but if we're getting 4-6 characters at each one, plus something that at least passes for food, without having to wait in at least 5 different lines the boiling hot sun, then it's TOTALLY worth it to me. I love character meals. You just get to sit in the air conditioning, hang out, and wait for the characters to come to you. Doesn't get much better than that!

We are so trying to do this. For us, it is worth it to pay for the experience.

Drat! It's going to be interesting with ds's food allergies.

My thoughts exactly :)

Call 407 wdw dine and let them know about your son's allergies, I'm sure they have something available

We are booked at Sci Fi at 8:05 May 16th!

Quick question- Which one do you think is better in terms of saving time in line in the park?

And which one would you want to do more regardless of time in line- just which characters you want to see more?

Also. It's important to note that many other coveted Adrs may come available as people cancel for the new sww ones.

Just got a 615 bog Ressie for May 20
