I see now where the active link on the runDisney page actually is...I GUESS you could call it user error, but that big, blue "Register" button is very misleading, especially when you're in a hurry...

I just noticed today that the pre-order jackets for Disneyland Half Marathon weekend are listed as being sold out - that race is September 2. So yes, they do "sell out" eventually.

ETA: I have no idea when they stopped taking orders for the jacket.

Thanks. Just checked the Wine & Dine. Jackets are sold out. I'm going to be in trouble... I was supposed to buy those!

Uggghhhhhh. That stinks.

They SHOULD have a different jacket for sale at the expo. If all else fails, watch eBay in the months following the race. I got a Dopey Challenge jacket recently from eBay, brand new with tags, for $30. I would have paid more like $80-$90 for the same thing at the expo.

That was stressful! Got the whole family in on the 5k, husband is running 10k and I'm on the Half. 6 months will fly by!

So, now that we are registered...what's everybody going to be wearing??? I want to figure out a Yoda costume for the 5k...something R2D2-inspired for the 10k, I think..

Just noticed Kids races listed as SOLD OUT. Everything else ON HOLD, except for 1/2 still open. Crazy how fast these go..!

ETA: DH just said that from a pure economics standpoint, this just means they aren't expensive enough! LOL!!

Does anyone know when SouthWest will post prices for flights around the dates of the race? Right now it looks like you only book through Jan 4.

Not sure what I'm wearing yet, but if you do want to do something R2D2 inspired, you can check out the Robot Run White, Blue headband from Sweaty Bands.

Our lowest price fare was on American and we purchased in early November, about 45 days before travel. I used Airfarewatchdog starting in September, and when we hit that low price in November I knew it was a bargain and not likely to get lower. As far as when they post the January fares to even start watching them... that I don't know.

It is CRaZy! But I'm actually surprised the 1/2 is still open & registration started over an hour ago. Wasn't this the race that completely sold out in like 15 minutes last year??

Was it?? Did they have a challenge last year? We were already registered for Half in WDW so couldn't do this one, too.

There was a challenge last year and it sold out in 25 minutes. All the races including the half sold out by 2 hours.

Southwest opens it's next flights on June 30th. I'm hoping to use points to get to SNA, but I'll take LAX if not.

On the runDisney site it's showing the RC & 10k at 99% sold, and the 5k at 95% sold

OH MY GOD, that was stressful. I got thru 3 RC registrations with the same error message - 'please enter a valid credit card', all the while the race percentage kept creeping up and up. I tried 2 different computers here at work with the same result and even went to the back of the building where the BFF has her office to try hers. Luckily, on the way it occured to me to try a different browser. I had been using that pile of stink IE. So I got back to her PC and used Chrome. But by that point it was 98% sold out and I was getting the 'on hold' message over and over. After about 5 minutes of refreshing it let me enter to register....until it gave me a brand new message: 'Yikes! It looks like all the entries are taken, please wait as some registrations are abandoned-it does happen!' So I clicked that link over and over, thinking all hope was lost, but then it actually WORKED, credit card info and all!!! I'm registered for the Rebel Challenge! It only took and hour and a half and unsafe levels of anxiety, but I'm in. *exhale*

Yikes!! Always seems like no matter what they do, there is room for improvement in this process.
