Does anyone have experience with perks available to employees of official sponsors of WDW. Mousesavers states that there may be discounts or perks like private lounges available to sponsor's employees. DH works for GM (Test Track Sponsor). I asked him to check with HR to find out, but being that GM is so big it sometimes takes a while to get an answer. I thought I would ask the experts at DISboards!!!

momtotwinglesx4,

Maybe between your dh and mine, we may be able to get an answer!!! By the way do you have twins? I have boy/girl twins and a singleton. PM me!!

Unfortunately, Fedex, my company, gave up sponsorship of Space Mountain as of 12/31/02. But, before then, we had a lounge in the back of the building, could go to the front of the line by showing our ID, and buy discount tickets/ passes. Also, we could get Magic Kingdom Club cards through Fedex--Remember that discount program??--and it was free!!

Well, it was great while it lasted...........

The way we accessed the benefits was thru our internal email system, and the physical office that processed the tickets/MK memberships was located at the Space Mtn. lounge. I don't know what your company has - If not email, maybe a newsletter? Or if someone is at WDW, they can check out if there's a lounge -- The staff there could give you info-------I'm surprised, though, that you haven't heard anything from your company before now. Our Disney perks were well publicized
within Fedex.

My sister worked for GE (was sponsor of Illuminations - but ended on 12/31) and she had a really long search to find out about their perks.... so keep asking!

I work for Pepsi/Frito-Lay and I know that the stadium in the Sports Complex is CrackerJack stadium due to our sponsorship... but so far no word on any perks. I'm still checking.. but if anyone else knows - please post or PM me.

DH has checked with his HR liason, we'll see what happens. I know they used to give you a discount on the Disney Club, but that doesn't do us any good now!!

My daughter asked when she started working at her mortage company (no big name) about MKC card, fan card, etc. Her co-workers said no we don't have that stuff. Well she called her main HR office and surprise, she got a huge packet of stuff including all of the cards above, plus other discounts. So when folks tell you no, still pursue it. We all miss the free MKC card. I also heard the Mcdonald's managers get discounts at WDW too (room discounts, ticket discounts). So lots of unknown discounts. With sponsors pulling out of WDW so much recently, it's hard to know who's left anymore.

scottygirl-
Yes, there is a special lounge upstairs for gm employees. My husband also works for gm in Michigan and when we went to disney in 2001 we got to go up there. It is open I think only during the week and you can watch the ride from up there. They also have free beverages. We had to show his work id in a room off the test track ride(I remember there were car models in the room) You also get passes to ride test track in a special line. This line shortened our wait dramatically, I think the line wait was 2 or 3 hours and our wait was probably 15 minutes.
