***Official September 2020 Thread***

I got an email today about BC not being open during our trip, but I was too busy during work to call. I called when I got home and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a CM. He got us switched to YC garden/woods view, which is where we were originally in April. There should have been a price increase, but he said he just had to send a message to guest services and within a week (because they will be having to take care of so many people) the price would be the same as we had at BC. He confirmed that SAB was scheduled to open on Aug. 24 still. The way he explained it, there are just not enough reservations to warrant having so many resorts open yet, and they are also trying to space the guests that are coming out. For example, having BC Villas and BW Villas and YC open, but not the regular BC and BW rooms, or Pop but not AoA. I'm just glad we got switched to somewhere good! I'm sure the poor CM's will be having to deal with people demanding that because of the inconvenience they should be moved to the most expensive resort, but that's not me... I'm happy to just be going still!

I can book my dining reservations tomorrow. There are not a whole lot of choices. I know for sure we will book Be Our Guest, Mama Melrose, Oga's, Sanaa, Homecoming brunch, and San Angel Inn- may switch to Whispering Canyon instead of Sanaa since we are Copper Creek.

We will snack in Epcot, eat Flame Tree BBQ and Nomad's in AK, Pecos Bill's in MK, and I don't know about HS.

We have an Instacart grocery order for breakfast items, so we will eat breakfast in the room most days.

61 days.....

is there a minimum to order from instacart?

is there a minimum to order from instacart?

i don't know maybe $35? We used them last September and we met them right outside the lobby at Beach Club. We ordered things like Bud Light in aluminum bottles, quick breakfast food (JImmy Dean scrambles, ham & cheese croissants, bananas, muffins), Smart water, Coke zero in 16 oz bottles (my husband brought his own Maker's Mark Bourbon), snacks (Sabra hummus & crackers, dark chocolate).

I know some people love Garden Grocer, but the process for Instacart was super easy. I could even track the order on my phone.

I think you can use Amazon fresh and Walmart Grocery also.

Just made reservations (of course I will probably change at least 10 more times)

9/26 MK BOG dinner
9/27 EP Homecoming Brunch and San Angel Dinner
9/28 HS Oga's 2pm
9/29 AK no reservations but I may add Sanaa dinner eating at Flame Tree and a break at Nomad's
9/30 MK no reservations-probably a resort dinner
10/1 HS Mama Melrose lunch
10/2 MK no reservations

We usually park hop and so this was sort of a challenge.

60 days...

Today was our 60 day mark. Unfortunately, we felt the cons outweighed the pros, so I cancelled our trip. I didn’t see any point in kidding myself anymore. I truly hope that those of you going this year (and next) have a great trip!

we did some practice in our masks in 93degree heat yesterday and for about 30 minutes we decided to probably cancel our trip, it was hot! .....well that didn’t last long we came up with worst case scenarios/solutions and then more reasons we should go lol....... I’ll admit though if we weren’t in driving distance, had not been moved to pop (with a 35% off Music price) and my daughter(#5 in our party, yep they means almost double the price for all future vacations onsite) we would not be taking this trip.

I think you're going to have a great trip! :) Humans are very adaptable, masks in the heat might feel hot/uncomfortable at first but it's amazing how we get used to them. I thought I would never be able to run in a mask, but I'm logging 2.5-3 and it's not the mask that makes it hard, it's the blazing sun.

DH and I both agreed we're taking this trip as long as WDW stays open - we desperately need some joy in our lives these days.

wow that’s amazing, wearing a mask while running, I have heard of people doing it though;) that and the fact that I keep hearing trip reports with people saying they just got used to it gives me hope, plus we always go when it’s hot We are used to it being hot and normally you’re in an out of air-conditioning anyways so that helps. We plan on packing breakfast that we bring from home in the morning in our room And our lunches And snacks in the parks and spending most of our food money on ice cream!

We rented DVC points and have a Baylake Theme Park view room scheduled for 9/19. Currently planning on coming but will probably drive for the first time. Coming from Northern Indiana so it is about a 15.5 hour drive. Going to attempt it in one day on the way down and split it across 2 on the way back. Should be interesting, watching National Lampoon's Vacation for inspiration.

I also have a DVC rental (at BWV for the week of 9/6) and just let the broker know that they can take it off their dedicated rentals for re-renting page since I have made the decision to go. There were over 300 rentals on that page for Sept alone so the chances of it being re-rented were slim to none. My dad will be joining me. Got airfare on Southwest since they seem to be doing the best job with safety standards right now and the flight times were great. Looks like numbers in FL are on the way down and hopefully they continue that direction. I've also been watching a lot of vlogs and following along on different threads on here - all have made me feel better about how safe I will be while at Disney, and I won't be leaving that bubble at all while in FL.

Starting to get (cautiously) excited!

Booked Swan for 9/11-18 it was just too good a deal and we really needed the time off. BIL and his GF will join us for a few days so need to redo some stuff reservation wise :)

We to have rented from an individual on the DIS at BWV.

And yep...getting excited.

Yep, 312 (well, now 311) last I counted!

Should be very quiet when we're there! Plus, the main portion of the Boardwalk won't be open yet and I believe the main Beach Club resort will also still be closed.

We are supposed to go 9/8-9/12. BWV cash reservation and I’m still on the fence. I’m just not sure I would enjoy it enough to justify it. Plus Spirit canceled our return flight. Decisions, decisions...

We just returned from 5 nights at BCV and I am even more excited now for our Sept trip! I started my new TR if you're interested https://www.disboards.com/threads/hello-itssmee-a-july-2020-its-good-to-be-bad-and-back-tr.3808843/

made my dining reservations for Sept trip! Booked
Skipper Canteen
Hollywood BD
We ate both places on our trip and both were delicious! We've eaten at Skipper's quite often the last few years but haven't eaten at HBD since I think 2014. So glad we did it again!

we will eat at Geyser point and Roaring Fork for sure, just debating a breakfast at Whispering Canyon..a dinner at Grand Flo ..those will be left to choose when we are there.
WL is my fave resort so eat at GP as often as you can lol. I do want to say that yesterday we booked a day of breakfast at Trattoria al Forno - no characters of course but OMG food was delicious. Another place we'd only had dinner at and years ago at that. We enjoyed it so much we booked it again this morning before we flew out!

Is the dole whip pineapple upside down cake still available? I didn't get to try it on our last trip and really want to this year.

Is it just me or does it depend on the vlogger you're watching, on how excited you get? I watch a few, and some make it feel like there's so many rules, and nothing is open that it's going to be a stressful trip. Then there are others that reinvigorate my enthusiasm and excitement and i go back to my original train of thought, which was it'll be like Disney from when i was a kid and will force us to slow down and have a nice, relaxing and romantic honeymoon. I realized this a few minutes ago when i was watching a video and decided I'm only going to watch the ones that don't bring me down.

I think if it wasn't for having to get to HS by 10 to get a boarding group I would say it would be a "relaxed" version of Disney. That's the one thing stressing me out. LOL Other than that, without having to worry about fastpasses, I think it will be a more relaxing trip.

I don't do vlogs but tons of my DIS friends do and they have all said yes, you get a different "feel" from different vloggers. It seems to depend on their personal feelings regarding the parks being open/what's available/safety measures. If a vlogger is super comfortable and just happy to be in the parks, they'll make you comfortable and excited. If one is hesitant (and from what I hear there are a couple popular ones who are), they'll inevitably come across that way to those watching.
Being just back yesterday we definitely felt it was a more relaxed trip with HS being a little bit of an exception. We do go very often and didn't NEED to do anything though, but it was so nice to not have to worry about FP's, and really not worry about what rides to do first again other than HS to a point. More time to spend at the pools if that's your thing without feeling you're missing out on park time. Easier actually to change plans on the fly.

The personal point of view is very important, isn't it? The overall experience is exactly the same - the individual perception of that experience is very different.

I am so excited to go. Specifically to experience a very different Disney World. I think if you stick to your original train of thought you will have a great time.

Yes, I definitely agree on the vloggers. Tim Tracker has been very hesitant and nervous - his first day back to AK was almost painful to watch. He's doing a little better now it seems like and I don't blame him for being concerned with an 8 month old baby at home.

I recently found Paging Mr. Morrow and am loving his videos. His enthusiasm and happiness just to be back are infectious! *feel weird using that description given current circumstances but couldn't think of a better one... ha!
