OFFICIAL POLL: Camp Rock vs. HSM

So I watched Camp Rock tonight and gave it as much of a chance as I could. As a huge HSM fan, I have to say, it didn't compare. As an objective viewer: the story line wasn't quite as developed, they tried to go with TOO many themes (don't lie, be who you are, friendships, family relationships, be an individual...etc.etc.etc.) Joe Jonas' acting was pretty good, but I found the girl rather annoying. Her singing, OBVIOUSLY was amazing, but her personality portrayed...ehh.

So my vote goes to HSM1&2, hands down.

Camp Rock by a mile for me....I liked the characters better, the music better, and the set better. Also, it seemed more set in reality. It seemed that there would be more of a liklihood of a "Camp Rock" then a high school that sings at the lunch table. That's just me though...

HSM. I didn't much care for Camp Rock, to be honest. Demi Lovato is a pretty good singer, but I don't see how she's #2 on iTunes, lol.

I personally hate both. And wouldnt waste my time watching either.

But I hate the Jonas Brothers more than Zac, so HSM.

I'm torn. I ADORED the first High School Musical.
And I was dissappointed with Camp Rock, the scenes didn't match and it was rushed in my opinion.

So, I can't decide.

I've already commented on like a bajillion threads..

But High School Musical is a cheery piece of crap. It scares me, a lot. Thing is, it's totally unrealistic to perceive high school as this awesome happiness where almost everybody gets along.
Camp Rock, while unrealistic too, makes a bit more sense because it's kind of like the 'camp you wish you could go to yourself' while HSM is just over happy-fying the HS experience.

I also found CR a bit funnier.

So CR is definitely better. But I would never say it was good. It was lame and the themes were kind of lame... yeah. And I kind of hate Joe with the passion.

The thing that annoys me...

is that so many people love CR cuz it had the JB in it.
That's it.

I think the CR crew are (overall, not EVERYONE) less talented than the crew of HSM. There were no legit dance numbers, which was VERY disappointing too.

And HSM is a musical, which is why it is "unrealistic" with people dancing at the lunch tables (to respond to someone who actually said that on another thread). CR is...idk, a movie about people "rocking"? Which, btw, I didn't think ANY of them rocked except that middle number with the JB (really liked it...I make SURE to give credit where credit is due). Heck, I even LIKE the JB. It wasn't them that I personally thought made the movie at least a B-. It was the story/culmination of everything else. And I agree, it seemed VERY rushed. Oh, and if I had to listen to that little snot head say one more thing in her snooty voice I was going to smack her myself. They TRIED to make us feel bad for her cuz of her negligent, self-absorbed, ridiculously rich mother, but I thought the writers failed there...sorry.
And as far as people saying they had better songs...

Sorry, I DEF maintain HSM was better.

That's not what this is though...
that's what people who don't understand movies/themes/can't judge objectively say.
Judging a movie based on fan-love for an actor would be ridiculous.

Personally I only think 1 or two of their songs were good. And then they're trying to like expand so much that they tried the acting thing. It bothers me.

Thing is, no matter what you ask me, I'll tell you that they both sucked.
CR sucked a little bit less.
But I'll probably start crying too when they come out with like a Demi Lovato doll.
Disney makes me ill, pretty much everything they make these days makes me angry.
