It might be answered somewhere in a thread, so I apologize for being lazy!

But - there are official Pace teams at the races, right? Specifically asking about Tink and Princess.

Does anyone know what paces are represented? Where they line up?

TIA!

I might be wrong..but I have never seen "official" pacers for the races (I've done W&D 3 times now(Relay x2 and 1/2 this last time:goodvibes)

The only groups I've seen with their own pacers has been for TNT

I saw pace group- a guy with a sign and balloons, with a ton of people following! pass me at Princess last year. He was in a red shirt. I suppose that may have been an unofficial group or someone other than Disney however. Dunno... never ran with one, but thinking I might like to join a group for one of the runs coming up.

I know that Clif always has pacers at the Walt Disney World Half and Walt Disney World Marathon. I would not say TNT has pacers, but rather coaches that seek out their runners during the race and offer encouragement. I thought that all the other races had them as well, but I don't remember seeing them this year at any of the other races.

I did see pacers at WDW full this year. I may remember a pace group in corral A of the princess this year. I will text DD and see what she remembers. I just don't remember them from past princess halfs/halves ( what word work there.)

Clif has official pacers and teams for the half and full. You can sign up on their site here: http://www.clifbar.com/play/pace_team/. The slowest group is a 5:30 pace, however. If you sign up (free) they'll send you a little goody box with a Clif bar, gel and shot bloks. Not sure how it works during the race as this is my first one!

I remember seeing one at the Princess last year. I think he was the 2:45 pacer guy. But I don't know that with certainty. He would pass me and then I would pass him and that went on for a while and then I revved it up and passed him. My chip time was 2:33 and my clock time was 2:41 so that must be about right. There were people running with him and he was very encouraging. I saw him around mile 10 or so.

Red shirt, red balloons? I think I saw the 2:45 guy and the 3:00 guy- also around mile 10ish. Both of them. HA- it was a long mile for me. :rotfl:

From the link:

1:40 Leader: TBD

1:50 Leader: TBD

2:00 Leader: TBD

2:15 Leader: TBD

2:30 Leader: TBD

2:45 Leader: TBD

3:00 Leader: TBD

Float Leader: TBD

That's the WDW half pace team- assuming they may have the same time break downs (if they did Tink or Princess)

Yes, I believe he may have been wearing a red shirt. Definitely had balloons. We must have been running near each other! :cool1:

HAH:rotfl::rotfl:Perhaps that's why I have never seen a pacer! Corral A is definitely not where I start:upsidedow

My only goal is to finish ahead of the sweepers :)

WDW Half and Full have pacers - all the info is on rundisney.com, but here it is again:

Pacing Requirements

All athletes entering the Walt Disney World® Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K must maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race. Anyone not able to maintain the respective paces may be picked up and transported to the finish. You may be picked up at any point along the course and transported for not maintaining pace. It is suggested that you train at a 15-minute per mile pace.

The CLIF BAR Pace Team will be returning as this year's "official" Walt Disney World® Marathon and Walt Disney World® Half Marathon Pace Team.

Here's How It Works:

Each Pace Leader will run even splits (every mile will be run in the same amount of time) throughout the race, and by following your Pace Team leader, you'll cross the finish line under two minutes of your goal time.

Pace Teams will be provided for the following finish times:

•Marathon - 3:05, 3:15, 3:25, 3:35, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 5:00, and 5:30.
•Half Marathon – 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00

Meet Your Pacer at the Expo

You can meet your Pace Team leader before the race at the marathon expo. Ask them about their marathoning backgrounds, how they fuel themselves during the race, and any other helpful tips. Pace Leaders will also be handing out free Pace Bands.

Where to Meet on Race Day

On race morning you'll see them lined up according to their pace and holding signs with their finish times. Just fall-in with your group.

Need more info? Learn more about how the Clif Bar Pace Team can help you achieve your best full or half marathon ever and sign-up by visiting clifbar.com.

rundisney.com does not list any pacing teams for the Tink or the Princess - it just says that you have to maintain a 16 per minute mile pace.

BOO! Fingers crossed they just haven't updated the info yet. :cheer2: I sent an email to Clif to ask if they were planning on being at Tink or Princess. I'll update if they get back to me.

They were def at the Princess and had red balloons with signs with the pace. My pace was a little over 3 hours, so my husband kept seeing the 3 hour pacer right before he would find me. Apparently that pacer was super energetic and was chanting and singing the whole time. My DH tried to imitate him to Get me to walk faster in the parks...yeah, that didn't work. :P

Well, it's not going to be Clifs if there are pacers coming. Just got this email from them:

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately the Pace teams are only able to support full marathons at this time. So there wont be CLIF Pacers at the Tinkerbell half marathon in 2013. However, Ill let the pace team coordinator know youd like to have them available in the future.
