*** Official November 2018 Thread - It's Turkey Lurkey Time! ***

Any good places you would recommend that are easier on your head then the ones Disney makes?

I've ordered from EnchantedCharactEARS, EverAfterByPatti and LeBownitte. They were all gorgeous and felt super comfortable so far.

My daughter did get a 3D one made by BowsGlitzandMore and they are very cute.

I love, love, LOVE LeBownitte. They're just a LITTLE big on my head but they are seriously stunning! I can't wait to wear them around WDW!

DD got the peppermint ears for MVMCP. They are a little big but so beautiful !! I’m eyeing her Coco and Up ears but we already have enough ears! Lol

Finally figured out and booked all our Nov. dining today :thumbsup2. Only thing I'm still looking for is the Frozen dessert party so hopefully it will open for one of the nights we can do it. I booked the HEA one, the family isn't big on dessert parties but I am, and since I do the booking, well, mom sticks in a few of what she wants! Now I want to see if I can fit the new Rhino tour at AK in anywhere and start working on our April DL trip :goodvibes

I've been calling for weeks looking for a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opening on our MK days - and finally scored one today! It's later in the day than I'd prefer (5:10PM) but I'm going to have one very happy 8 year old :) Does anyone know if the BBB reservation should show in MDE? As of right now, it's not and I haven't gotten a confirmation email either; I do have my confirmation number written down though.

I can't believe we will be there NEXT MONTH! :dumbo:
As pp's have said BBB doesn't show up in MDE. You can actually link it, it goes under plans I believe? Not the same way you link a dining or resort reservation. I've done it for clients but offhand can't remember the exact steps.

We’ve never gone at this time of year before and this is the first time the kids are going (DS8 and DD5). One thing we’ve been thinking about is dressing for the weather, something that has come up on here. Assuming that the days are warm and the evenings are cold, what do you guys do with your cold weather clothes during the day? For the most part, we’re not planning on going back to the resort to change. So if we’re in the parks from open till close, do we just carry them in backpacks all day? Use the lockers? I’m worried about trekking all the way back to the front of the park to get stuff out of the lockers but it could be done. Is it more irritating to walk back to a locker or carry stuff around like a pack mule all day?

As an added wrinkle, we’re bringing a couple of princess dresses for my daughter to wear (at her BBB appointment and at Akershus). I’m assuming she won’t be comfortable in them all day – they go over her regular clothes, so taking them on and off shouldn’t be a problem. But these things are bulky! Does the locker make more sense on these days in particular? Anyone have any opinions on this stuff, LOL?

This situation is why we decided to rent a stroller again this year, and a double one! Kids will be 7 1/2 and 5 1/2 and probably won't ride in it much, but it's somewhere to put all the extra stuff!

I hadn’t even considered that! I liked the idea of my kids being old enough that I wouldn’t need a stroller but you make a good point

I hate pushing a stroller. Our first time going stroller free was awesome. I was less exhausted and had way more energy. Pushing dead weight is no fun.

For your BBB day I would rent a locker.

On any other day I would just have everyone carry their own jacket/sweater. Put it around their waist. Or just rent a locker in the morning and walk back when you need your jacket.

I love going bagless and stroller free.

I certainly would rather carry as little as possible. I just wasn’t sure how inconvenient the locker situation was. Thanks for the advice

I would definitely consider renting a stroller. You’ll be surprised at how often your kids will want to sit in it after a long day pushing them will be better than carrying them. And during the day you can store your things

We are totally renting a stroller for this reason. My son is turning 7 on the trip and I know the long days are going to get to him and he is way too heavy to carry. The bonus is that we have a place for our crap.

I will say that the last time we went, for his 5th birthday, we would park the stroller for hours, so we weren't pushing it around all day. He used it more at night and toward the end of our trip.

Where do I find info about renting strollers? My kids will be 6,8,10 so I wasn't thinking we'd need one. We've been years without one. But can we rent one at the end of the trip if they're getting whiney? Or do I need to know ahead of time?

When DD was 5 that was our plan. We didn't take a stroller and decided that if she started whining we would just rent one in the parks. We were there an entire week and not one complaint. But we did prepare and budget for a stroller rental just in case.

Hi everyone! I'm joining the November party as I officially booked my plane tickets today! :yay:

I'll be there 11/22-11/27, staying at POR.

I just got back from the World a couple of weeks ago, but my trip with DH was unfortunately a huge bust. It was unbearably hot, and 3 days in I got very sick and spent most of the trip in bed and wound up in urgent care. :(

DH and I had upgraded our tickets to Annual Passes while we were there because we knew we'd be headed back in May for my big birthday, and after such a crappy trip, the post-Disney depression is real! Anyway, DH agreed that we could go back over Thanksgiving break, AND we get to bring his mom! It's exciting because she hasn't been to Disney since like 1984, and doesn't really vacation anywhere so this will be a trip to show her all of the fun things we are always talking about when we show her pictures of Disney World.

I know I'm very behind the 8 ball here (and I'm an uberplanner), so I'm in ADR stalking mode and trying to plan everything to maximize our time since it's a short trip for us. We've never been in November or Thanksgiving (crowds are SKEERY!), but we've been during the first week of December and loved it. I've been to MVMCP the last 2 years so we're attending the party on 11/25 this year as well. Can't wait to order shirts for us!

Very sorry to hear about your most recent trip. I hope you've been feeling better! :sad1:

We're glad to have you here planning with us! I hope you, DH and mom have a wonderful trip!

So happy to see this!!! Plus we'll be there at the same time, 17-22nd at SSR and then moving to CSR through the 25th! It'll be our 3rd Thanksgiving trip and we love going that week; yes it's crowded but we find it very doable, extremely preferable to spring break, the weather is great and of course resorts and parks are so festive :santa: Again so happy you're returning so soon :goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome! I feel a bit overwhelmed not having had the last 8 months to plan so I look forward to jumping into the thread!

Hey fellow September buddy! Glad to see you here!
I am a bit worried about the crowds, especially since we'll be dragging MIL along who is a "dawdler," so I'm hoping I pack my patience pills!

I know one thing I wanted to do was the Candlelight Processional, and earlier tonight a reservation popped up in my stalking for a 5:30 Biergarten so I snagged it! I checked and it's one of the nights Alfonso Ribeiro is narrating! :thumbsup2
Now to figure out my touring plan and book the rest of my reservations and oh yeah Fastpasses. Eek!:rotfl2:

I don't want to make you think the crowds are "good", and they're definitely bigger than Sept lol! But, we will take Thanksgiving over spring break (week before Easter) ANY.DAY. Thanksgiving is so, so much better than that! What I've said to others is that RD is more important, or worth it if you will, if MIL can be up and ready early. Then, and this may sound non-important but it is, don't do QS during the main meal hours! Those lines get longer than ride lines, seriously  So when you're planning to do QS try to plan 11-11:30 or after 1:30 for lunch; or before 5, after 7 for dinner.
But bringing patience will help, too!

We did the CP twice, once was with Neil Patrick Harris and it was awesome. I'd love to see Alfonso Ribeiro! I'd most likely have my fingers crossed the whole time that he breaks out into the Carlton dance :dancer:
