***********Official "November 2014" thread- Come Join Us!!!! ************

I was thinking storytellers for thanksgiving dinner for us this year will be interested to see other opinions is weird they haven't released any info about thanksgiving options given you can make bookings for it in the next few days
I just made dining reservations for 21st and 22nd Nov

We love Storytellers! We had the regular dinner buffet last December and it was fabulous! Sorry I don't have any details on the Thanksgiving menu, but I think that it would be a perfect Thanksgiving dinner venue! :goodvibes

We have booked a quick November trip to take advantage of our APs, which expire December 10th. Staying at the PPH Nov. 7-11. We're prepared for it to be very, very busy. The GCH only has concierge rooms remaining, the PPH only has Premium View rooms, and the DLH is sold out! :scared1:

We (along with many, many other families) are taking advantage of a 4-day week-end for our kids. Very excited to return to our favourite place on earth!!! :cool1:

Be sure to check out this dining-specific post in the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread (we cover the whole holiday season there, not only Christmas), as there is a special "Thanksgiving Day Dining" section. In that section you will find a link to a Disney Parks Blog from November 14th of last year, and Pam Brandon gives a list of 10 options for Thanksgiving food.

What you should know is that the options are not going to change too drastically from year to year. All of the same table service/sit down restaurants that had special menus or meals for Thanksgiving last year will likely have special menus or meals this year. Maybe a few of the items on the menus may change, and I'm sure the prices will have gone up a bit, but in general you will be dealing with the same set of restaurants and the same types of items.

I could be wrong, but I think that Carnation Café might have a special menu or meal on Thanksgiving as well, though I don't think Pam Brandon included it in her blog from last year.

And, as I mentioned in the Thanksgiving post I linked above, both Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen and Catal in Downtown Disney offer special meals on Thanksgiving.

Today in the Superthread, both Trish/Phoenixrising and Lori/Kylie71 spoke of their previous Thanksgiving meals (at the Blue Bayou and Storytellers, respectively).

:cheer2:

albertamom -- I don't think that the hotels are truly, actually booked yet (although I expect Veterans Day weekend to be quite busy, especially since the Christmas Fantasy Parade taping will take place on at least a couple of days during your trip)-- I know that they show up as being booked for most of November and most of December, both online and to the Cast Members on the phone (and they show up as booked for most of the current discounts too), but this sort of thing has happened in the past, where rooms appeared to be booked up and then suddenly there was availability as time marched on.

Believe it or not, September is actually early for so many onsite hotel rooms at Disneyland Resort to really be all booked up in November and December -- especially when so many people stay off-property and especially when there is nothing major or out of the ordinary happening this year to bring a bunch of extra people to the parks (like the opening of Cars Land). It wouldn't be too early for WDW hotel rooms to book up, but for DLR I think it is. In my experience I have noticed that rooms start to open up over time. I think that some of the rooms might be held back right now (except for the most expensive ones), for some reason or another -- and then we will begin to see some openings by sometime next month. I could be completely wrong, but I am going by what I have noticed in the past, as I kept watch over the hotel calendars when there were certain discounts floating around.

I was expecting the same thing, Sherry. I've had the room booked for quite awhile with the regular 10% AP discount. When the Fall Package 25% off AP rates were announced I had another look, thinking that I might upgrade to concierge, and was blown away! It's funny, you generally have to phone for prices on the Signature Suites at DLH, but when I input my dates and it shows all 3 hotels, it says rates are available at DLH from $3380 a night. Of course when you select that hotel, it doesn't show anymore, but it must be for one of those suites! Something to dream about! :)

We will be there from Texas Nov 22-25. We have never been and have park hopper passes so I'm not sure where we will begin. We are staying at the Grand Californian Hotel.

Sorry for the delay my November travellers! The list is updated as of today though with everyone who has said they are going!

Its 61 day's out for my family. What is left on your to-do list!?

Ive got most mine down to the last few items. Would love to see what everyone else has in case I forget anything:laughing:

1. finish buying gift cards for DDs visit to BBB ($100 left to go!)
2. buy Christmas pajama's & slippers for the hotel. Waiting on Disney store to release them!
3. Purchase our 1 day Legoland passes. Surprising the kids with a stop on our way there. Already paid for the Legoland hotel.

I got our photo pass and Character breakfast pre paid voucher's and will start making reservations tomorrow! Kids shirts have come in from Etsy too! Just collecting all the little things here and there that we will need for the hotel and travel but the main chunks are pretty much done. Getting so excited!:santa:

Wow!!!! Im impressed! I have so much to do still!

I have to:

-get our etsy shirts done
-make autograph book for my son
-order vons
-buy photo pass
-buy a sunshade for our stroller
-order safety tattoos for the kids

I think thats it!

If anyone is flying Southwest to get to DL I have some drink coupons to give away. They expire 12/31/14 and I will not be able to use them before they expire. First PM I get can have them. :goodvibes

Totally forgot about the safety tattoos. My husband had these on his must have list. Thanks for the reminder!

We are going November 22-25. We are WDW vets and this is my first real visit to DL. I went with my very pregnant daughter for half a day last year, but that is the only time I've been there. I am so excited! Especially since the Christmas decorations should be up. We are staying at DLH. It will probably be our only DL visit so I'm hoping to make the most of it!

DD4 is bringing her Parents (Soundguy and Millerette) as well as her Lola & Pop,
3 of Her Aunties, 1 Uncle and 2 Cousins to Disneyland November 9-11.

As always, we'll have our LGMH on our Lanyards/Camera Strap.
If you see us, make sure to say Hello!

DD4 is bringing her Parents

Haha! Love it.

I was super happy to turn the calendar over to October because it means the countdown has finally gotten down into the manageable zone! 49 days to go! Mad preparations are underway... all ADRs are done, Photopass+ voucher has arrived, BBB is booked, and we're just trying to decide on DGD6's outfits for each day and how we're going to fit her princess wardrobe into a carry-on bag since we're flying down this time. And still trying to decide whether to rent a stroller or not. I love these little details. :)

The calendar is slowly filling up for November. Looks like Pinocchio and snowwhite rides go down for refurb starting november 12th.
