"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but here we go... Do people dress up for the parties in festive Christmas gear? My husband and I have some pretty awesome "ugly" Christmas sweaters that would be neat to wear. We are going to the November 17th party. I've been to WDW tons of times, but I have never been during the Christmas season. This year when I found out they were ending the Osborne Lights I was able to convince my husband to take a quick 4 day trip! Pretty excited/terrified after reading the reviews of how over crowded all the Halloween parties have been though!

Yes people are decked out in Christmas attire did you see my OP lol you won't look funny and I think it'll make your pictures more memorable and don't ever apologize you're more than welcomed to ask questions here!

I just bought some sweet red pants to go with my green sweater for the Christmas party, so I sure hope some people are dressing up!

It's so funny you say this because I've been keeping an eye out for some GREEN pants to go with my red Christmas shirt that I'm wearing to the party! :santa:

I'm considering buying a horrifically ugly Flyers ugly Christmas sweater that the NHL actually sells as such! It's black and blinding neon orange, and just the perfect amount of hideous, so I sure hope others are wearing ugly sweaters too! This thing is a monstrosity haha

I apologize as I suspect this has already been asked and answered, but I don't recall specifically what option I chose for my tickets when I bought them. I'm pretty sure I selected the Will Call option. I see the tickets in my MDE account and we are actually planning to use a park ticket to spend the day at MK anyway. So, when we get to the park, we would just go to the ticket window to pick up our party tickets and then at 4, do we go back out to the front and re-enter using the party tickets? Thanks.

Is the park super busy between 4 and 7 on party nights? We're doing the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise on Nov. 17, and I had originally made FP at MK between 4 and 6 but I don't know if we want to go in the park at all if it's crazy crowded...

You'll have day guests still lingering and party guests coming in, so it can be quite congested in those hours. I'd recommend using FPs during that time, or lining up for some of the special characters.

If they don't do a dessert party for MVMCP will they have FP for holiday wishes or the parade?
The Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party is already booking for MCMCP nights. There are no FPs offered during the party.

There is always the chance that they may offer a separate ticketed event that includes reserved seating for the parade and/or fireworks, but nothing like this has been offered during the Christmas party in years past.

If they are linked to your account (MB), no need for hard tickets and no need to leave and re-enter. There will be CMs stationed throughout the park to scan your band and provide your party wristband.

Can any one give me an idea of what the weather will be like the first weekend in Dec? I've been to WDW mid January and the days were warm but a couple of nights it was really cold. DH and I want to pack just carry on for our trip but if we need a couple of sweaters that might not be possible.

Historically, highs are in the mid 70s, lows in the mid 50s. Beach weather! :beach: :rotfl:

Perfect. Thanks so much!

You need to be prepared for anything, from shorts to winter coats. It can and does change very quickly...... and you don't want to be outfitting a family for cold weather gear at Disney prices. It's usually gorgeous, needing sweatshirts in the morning and evening, and shorts and T's during the day. But a couple of our early December trips were bitter cold.

so I've been lurking along... and can't really decided... which would you do? Friday, Dec 4 or Sun Dec 6 for party night? We are coming in Friday morning. if we did Friday, we wouldn't do another park... just get settled at the resort- mid afternoon lunch and head to the party at 4. if we did Sunday, DD and I may try to do all day MK, with a break mid-day. DH and DS probably wouldn't do that! I know it's really comes down to our choice, but is there that much difference in crowds?

we've been to the party before but it was in 2006. crowds were minimal, so we are excited to go back. I just want to prepare DH and DS that it won't be quite the same! They're the most impatient while DD will be ok.

thanks for any advice.

I've never been to a MVMCP before, & we're planning to go to a few this year (weekend & weekday). Do you have any advice for photos with the characters, especially Santa, Santa Goofy, 7 Dwarfs, Jack Sparrow, Genie, & Bert with the penguin? How long are their lines normally? Is it like SWW for Chewbacca or Darth Vader where you are in line for an hour +? I'm not sure if we should plan on being in line right at 4-5. Is it better to get pictures during the week parties?

I think it depends on the day. We went to the Halloween party on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the lines from 4-7 (20 minutes for Big Thunder, 15 for Haunted Mansion, walked right on Little Mermaid, etc.). I think that the early closing time and lack of parade for people without party tickets also can discourage some would be visitors to the MK on party days.
